Is it possible for a computer genius/magician/guru to somehow see everything I do online (view my photos and read my emails and texts to and from other people) without having physical access to my device or my permission?

Not without your permission, but you may have given permission and not realized it.

Spyware can be loaded into your computer when you open an e-mail attachment or click on a link. It can send notice to its owner whenever you're online and give him or her access to your files, as well as your microphone and camera. It can also relay your history, your contacts and everything you type on your keyboard.

I asked the google. AKA The Magic 8-Ball.

It said:

"Concentrate and ask again."

That’s just crazy talk.

Ramp-up the paranoia. Malware can be factory pre-loaded on (mostly off-brand) devices you attach to your computer. And your DSL modem, WiFi router, wireless webcam and printer and net drives, can be remotely hacked. Maybe your sophisticated uninterruptable power supply, too, but I'm not sure about that.

I'm also not sure if you're more likely to be spied upon, or merely enslaved as an attack bot. Every device with an IP address is a juicy target and their security is often for shit. Have fun.

PS: Your TV may be spying on you too. Your smartphone definitely is. Smash them.

One bit of malware undetected by your firewall, and clever cyber criminals will even be looking at you through your cam while you are typing. Do online banking on the infected computer and they will know every detail of your finances and how to access them.

I don't know if the technology exists to read your screen remotely on a modern screen. CRT emissions can be reconstructed from a couple of dozen yards away and through walls.
