To Botany Boy's credit, I have never seen him even once refer to PTSD as a factor in his posting style. Which means he has a sense of personal responsibility you've never demonstrated.

As far as I know, this is the first and only mass shooting carried out with automatic weapons, if that initial report is true. They are already heavily regulated, and if he had 10 of them, if they were legal, that's well over $100,000 in weapons at a minimum. I highly doubt they were legal and registered. So we already have laws in place to protect against something like this, and those laws can always be broken by someone who wants to murder. Murder is already illegal. That doesn't mean it stops murder, clearly.

Automatic weapons are almost never used in crime. The last time I can remember something highly publicized was the LA armored car hijackers in the 90s.

That weren't legal either, M4's/M16's stolen from a Naval Armory if I'm not mistaken. There was another one back in the early 70's in Texas used in a few bank robberies, illegal AK, never killed anyone with it though.

Either way you're still going back to WAY outside the law that no regulations would stop anyhow.

Pushing the last legal automatic weapon used on the public WAY back to the days of Capone and shit.

Not to say this couldn't be a first, but I'd bet it's more than likely media hype and ignorance than a legal full auto. Especially considering the kill/wounded numbers.

Any belt fed pig or piglet with even a minimal ammo compliment on a concentrated crowd like that would have easily sent death count into the triple digits in under a min.

You don't put 1900 rounds of .30 cal into a crowd like that before the crowd even realizes what's happening and only hit 200 people, unless worst shot ever.

Even mag fed full autos, on a table? With mags stacked up?

A P90 or select fire M4/M14/M16/AK would have been significantly more devastating.

Anyone who has an AR or an AK can simply purchase a trigger device that replicates and automatic weapon. I have an AR and an AK and two of these devices.

Well I take that back. I used one of the devices on my Saiga when I broke it in with my 50-round ammo barrel by using it as a "chainsaw" to cut down a tree.
