I always felt like a person only needs one REAL friend. We have our groups of people we like to hang out with, sure. But everyone should have that one friend that you can call at 3AM in a snowstorm and say "I need help" and their only response is "I'm on my way" and they should be able to call you and get the same response.

If you have that then you're set. If not, keep looking, they're out there somewhere.

I AM that friend to everyone... but I honestly don't know who I would call in that situation.

A doormat takes the dirt from people's shoes and makes them cleaner and happier, leaving them better off. As long as that dirt dries and blows off of you leaving you clean and ready for more then you are nothing but helpful and amazing.

If, on the other hand, that dirt turns to mud caking on you and wearing you out then you need a friend to help YOU out. Luckily you've made many friends here and any one of us (or all of us) would be happy to take on some of your dirt (that didn't sound as poetic as I wanted it to, but you know what I mean )

My older girl mentioned you the other day when it was stormy here, telling me what the news had said about your area, and hoping you were okay. Even though she only met you the once, she remembers you, and she hears your name from me. Because i remember you. Even when we don't talk, you're one of the people I carry around in my heart.
