Sienna's Music Lounge II

Hi AFM my love and thank you for those links :) Love the smooth music of Mac Ayers and...
dare I say the music of Mark Johns... but who is the female vocalist getting "3 and a half loads
to the face" girl? ;):D Brilliant stuff.

You know I hadn't even thought of the that until you said it! Mark Johns is actually the stage name of the female singer. I'm seeing her in a new light now. :D

New music:

Wreck This Journal - Coldiac
On a side note, this video starts with the music box playing the theme song from 'Castle In the Sky', my favourite film, and also my favourite film theme song.

Make You Love Me - Jarreau Vandal feat Zak Abel

Rose Red - CLARA

By the way, Detroit Jazz Festival this weekend...
RunningJib thank you for posting :) I love the teaser and of course
the amazing link to the Esperanza Spalding and co. Love the way
Esperanza melts into one with that bass, and of course the rest of
the quartet :) More information

:D
:D If I were an artist I could use Robin Mason and it could be male or
female :) AFM as usual top notch music links. I love the beautiful
Coldiac music vid, and the intro to the very sexy and beautiful CLARA...
I shall be looking forwards to seeing more of her musical talents

Sanity[previous post] and Sasquatch...listen to Inside. His voice reminds me of
Chris Cornell somewhat. Not quite as gutteral however...

...I went through a big jazz phase. Some names I like: Andre Previn, Bob Cooper, Billie Holliday,
Carmin McCrae, Dave Brubeck, Victor Feldman, Ray Gelato, and Vince Guaraldi... I don't know
what styles of jazz you like. Many of mine are piano heavy and are from the 50s and 60s. listen
to Jeeps Blues. I loved it that they put it into American Hustle. They also put in some ELO which
is not jazz but is another favorite artist of mine
.

I am very much into smooth jazz with artists like Kenny G, Boney James, Konstantin Klashtorni
to name a small few. And there are some really sexy ones in the Lavendar Hill Penthouse Suite
[See previous page] :)
Jeep's Blues - Duke Ellington (Live 1957)

Double Play - Andre Previn & Russ Freeman

Ginza Samba - Vince Guaraldi Trio

The Good Life - Tony Bennett (1963)

Sinnea, darling, surely at this rate you should curate a Spotify (other) playlist?

Songs that I love but haven't listened to in a while...
Hi AFM  Thank you for those links :) A Camp is an indie band that exists along with
The Cardigans through lead vocalist Nina Persson. Both bands have had their individual
success world wide especially in Scandinavia. I would class Jo Stance as a jazz vocalist :)
However, others may not agree. And of course Eric Clapton. What a man and his
unforgettable song Layla :)

Lovefool - The Cardigans

Layla - Eric Clapton (Acoustic rendition)
Many thanks Sienna for allowing me to contribute. I hope folks like some of
the selections. Jeep's Blues sounds best on vinyl if anyone still has a turntable
(I still have mine that is older than Sienna)
.
Thank you HWW for sharing, it was a pleasure and please PM me with more requests,
not only jazz or rock but anything you find interesting enough to share. Regarding that
turntable? My Mum still has one believe it or not, and plays the old polyvinyl discs from
the 60's 70's and 80's... singles, EP's and LP's. One of my earlier accounts of a famous
LP album is War Of The Worlds by Jeff Wayne. It was great growing up in the 80's with
not only disc albums but also tape cassettes which I still have in my personal old format
music collections
:)

Forever Autumn - Justin Hayward (1978)
Sinnea, darling, surely at this rate you should curate a Spotify (other) playlist?
Sinnea? :D Perhaps one day it might happen :)

These were special to my father...
Time To Say Goodbye - Sarah Brightman & Andrea Bocelli

(If You're) Young At Heart - Jimmy Durante

I was always interested in Sarah Brightman. She not only did opera but also was known for
being a talented actor, dancer and writer of music. In 1981 she made her debut in Cats and
I love this well known song from that musical
:)...

Memory - Sarah Brightman (From Cats)

I am not sure where the boundaries are between opera and musicals? However, I can not forget
the Three Tenors, that included José Carreras, Plácido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti and their
"powerful" piece... Nessun Dorma :)

RIP Don Williams . . .
Sienna, one of my favorite country singers/story tellers!
He was one of my Dad's favourites too. Not knowing a great deal about country music
I thought it was Don Henley that had passed away at first... poor Don Henley! May he
be with us much longer :D. investor my love your link to Rake And Ramblin' Man didn't
work, perhaps not in the UK any way, so I have put a new one up :)
In the UK at the moment the BBC are playing excerpts from the 2017 CMA fest including
Lady Antebellum, Kenny Rogers and Rascal Flatts just some that I know off.

Life Is A Highway - Rascal Flatts

My all-time favourite song,
"Moments Of Pleasure"

Some moments that I've had
Some moments of pleasure

I think about us lying
Lying on a beach somewhere
I think about us diving
Diving off a rock, into another moment

The case of George the Wipe
Oh God I can't stop laughing
This sense of humour of mine
It isn't funny at all
Oh but we sit up all night
Talking about it

Just being alive
It can really hurt
And these moments given
Are a gift from time

On a balcony in New York
It's just started to snow
He meets us at the lift
Like Douglas Fairbanks
Waving his walking stick
But he isn't well at all
The buildings of New York
Look just like mountains through the snow

Just being alive
It can really hurt
And these moments given
Are a gift from time
Just let us try
To give these moments back
To those we love
To those who will survive

And I can hear my mother saying
"Every old sock meets an old shoe"
Isn't that a great saying?
"Every old sock meets an old shoe"
Here come the Hills of Time

Hey there Maureen,

Hey there Bubba,
Dancing down the aisle of a plane,

'S Murph, playing his guitar refrain,

Hey there Teddy,
Spinning in the chair at Abbey Road,

Hey there Michael,
Do you really love me?

Hey there Bill,
Could you turn the lights up?

Not a great video, so I won't post it, but I always love the song, "Superman" by the Crash Test Dummies
