‘Genocide’ In Yemen As Saudi Arabia, U.S. Grab 63% Of Oil Supply

Saudi Arabia and the United States are carrying out a “genocide” while the world turns a blind eye, unaware that Yemen is being invaded for its vast oil reserves.

Observers have been puzzled why oil-rich Saudi Arabia, backed by their allies the United States, have set their sights on impoverished Yemen – however all is not as it seems in the region.

Saudi Arabian oil is drying up, and scientific research by international drilling companies show that Yemen’s unexploited oil reserves are greater than the combined reserves of all the oil-rich Gulf states.

Yemen, the poor man of the region, has emerged as a prize, and the ruthless Saudis are experiencing no guilt about slaughtering Yemeni civilians to ensure the virgin oil begins flowing through their pipelines.

Study: Most Yemen Deaths Result of US-Backed Saudi Coalition

"The U.K. and the U.S. have played a crucial role in creating conditions conducive to the spread of cholera," the study's authors wrote.

A study by London's Queen Mary University analyzing the devastating war in Yemen found that the vast majority of deaths in the war-torn country are at the hands of the United States and United Kingdom backed Saudi coalition.

The coalition, with western support, has engaged in blockade tactics to prevent aid from reaching Houthi controlled areas of Yemen while carrying out devastating bombing campaigns.

“Saudi-led airstrikes have destroyed vital infrastucture, including hospitals and public water systems, hit civilian areas, and displaced people into crowded and unsanitary conditions,” the report said. “A Saudi-enforced blockade of imports has caused shortages of, among other things, food, medical supplies, fuel and chlorine, and restricted humanitarian access.

UN demands more humanitarian access to Yemen

The UN has urged all the combatants in Yemen to open the country's land, sea and air ports to civilian and commercial traffic as the spectre of starvation hangs over 25 million people.

Stephen O'Brien, the UN under-secretary general for humanitarian affairs, called on Friday for unconditional humanitarian access to all parts of the country and said the airport in the capital Sanaa should be opened "immediately".

Yemen is facing the "world's worst cholera outbreak", with close to 2,000 people having died from the disease since April, more than half a million people being infected, and another 600,000 expected to contract the infection this year.

"Today, millions of people in Yemen are facing a triple tragedy: the spectre of famine, the world's largest ever single-year cholera outbreak, and the daily deprivation and injustice of a brutal conflict that the world is allowing to drag on and on," O'Brien said.

"This human tragedy is deliberate and wanton - it is political and, with will and with courage which are both in short supply, it is stoppable.

Jack, you embarrass yourself with this kind of thread. Try researching Shia and Sunni in North and South Yemen, then mebbe look at the colonial history, then look at which section of the country may have value. Finally examine the Iranian connection.

You may then possibly be able to say something useful.:)

It is always useful to oppose war and war mongers.

Is the chaos in Yemen caused by a Moslem split or is it an economic issue? I don't really know, but I can't believe the Saudis would care if Yemen didn't have unexploited oil reserves.

I also believe that the Shia/Sunni issue has always been an issue of power and money, not Faith. The issue has always been about which mullahs and rulers had the power. Religion is a cover for greed research that and you will find that is the basis for 90% of the conflicts.

Did you read the link you posted in Comment #4? There is no mention of either the US or Saudi Arabia. Instead, it is the Houthis who control the airport and seaports and are, effectively, starving the Yemenis.

As for Obama, he and his idiot Sex. of State, who ran for POTUS a few years later, are the ones who gave Iran a free hand to help the Houthis and ladled out tons of money to help them do so.

So I guess there are no "Good Guys" in this mess that Obama and Clinton caused? :(
