It's really calming and therapeutic, right? I try to make jam I couldn't buy, so mixes that are very expensive or pleasant but inventive. The one from two two years ago still is wonderful and has never been seen in shops, while strawberry jam I can buy easily and at a decent price If it's wanted.

I'd quite like to consider preserving with apple juice like the no added sugar Jams but, life is short and I give most of mine away.

I'd also say a straight up elderberry syrup is useful for the medecine cabinet and as a jelly a fair addition for cold cuts of red meat.

i think his mum is going to use the rest of this batch's elderberry juice to make a jelly using apple juice as well.

we've got the first bacon out of the brine and into its cornmeal, just made up a new batch of brine - adding garlic to try out - ready for the 2nd half of the loin, and i just watched H make biscuits. we're gonna have some with the jam and some of the earlier cured bacon.
