You're right about that - that I talk way too much them in other threads, and you do it only occasionally. And your feedback that my behavior has to change was entirely appropriate.

But your claim that I'm the only person who refers to them and attracts them to this thread, while downplaying your latest comments and taking the high moral ground from that pov sounded a tad disingenuous.

It's been 15 years since I've fired my Marlin Model 60 .22. A great little gun and it still looks brand new. Out of the kind of boredom you speak of I took it apart and stoned to a mirror finish all functioning bearing surfaces on the bolt and trigger assembly. The function is perfect and that trigger breaks like an icicle now. I took it with me on my trip to Glacier in June but didn't have occasion to shoot it. I'm sure it's just as deadly on rabbits today that it was years ago but I don't hunt them anymore now that we have a functioning police state in place here.

Presently I have a small place on the Salmon River in Idaho but economically I'm not quite ready to retire and move all of my shit up there.

Might want to reconsider your options, Gunny. California is a high-tax, high-service state, tailor made for unemployed/marginally employed leeches such as yourself. Moving to a low-tax, low-service state like Idaho might put a severe crimp in your lifestyle, since you'll be unable to leech off taxpayers like you do now.

The lady whose property borders my own has offered to sell me her place in which half of her acres are on the river and the other half is across the HWY that runs along the river where she lives at present. That would increase my own acreage on the river and offer a slightly more elevated space to live full time across the road.

I want enough room to erect a steel building for toys and a decent shop which wouldn't be practical on my present acreage. If I did that I'd probably rent the place I have now.
