Gender Identity/ Sexual Orientation

"Over the years, I've seen many books, sermons, letters, shows, etc. filled with ignorance and misogyny..."

Really? Misogyny?

As famously said on Sundays: Come on, man!

I wonder if mtf trans people go get Pap smears, or mammograms, to get the full female experience. Or take bone health supplements to prevent osteoporosis.

Ooo, do you guys know if viagra works better if a female transitions to male?

The conservative approach? Shame. Denial. Isolation. Just Say No. We have done that for years. It does not bring the trans kid back to heteroland. It encourages shitty behavior towards those that march to a different drummer. The Church does not want the topic discussed. So fucking what? Do not teach evolution. Do not teach science. Do not teach that the planet is round.

Yeah, fuck that. Go with the Libs on this one. The world will be a better place for all of us.

One of the rare topics where I err towards your guys' side. (The liberal approach).
Transgenderism is real so to speak, and there are a lot of discrimination and hate crimes against these folks.

But why even debate such issues, when they are pretty clear and black and white?

It's much more interesting discussing how people's noble ideals or genuine emotions like empathy for another human being are being subverted by others, towards a more covert goal. (from changing cultures, to selling cigarettes and cars and convincing reluctant popullations to approve destructive wars ).
Yuri Bezmenov, Edward Bernay and dr. Anthony Napoleon.

Americans subverted quite a few of thechristian religious institutions too.
See the contrast between
-- how religion is practiced in many american households and in most of Europe (with emphasis on the personal quest for a meaningful and ethical life)
-- and the bigotted judgmental stuff that permeates certain religious institutions in the US.

But from here to the leftist atheists desire to squash most things Judeo- Christian?
That doesn't make sense to me, why they don't separate the two.

I chatted briefly with a crossdressing motorcyclist yesterday at a biker bar.

Dude has a pony tail, wears lululemons with high heeled pumps on his Ninja.

He likes grrls, isn't gay, but grrls wont date him, hasn't worked in 10 years because of the discrimination.

Sounds more like masochism to me, but whatever it is, it's fucked up.

I am not a squasher. I am a big believer in individual rights. So let the games begin. It is my right as a parent to make sure my kid does not hear about that gay stuff. It is my right as a parent to make sure my kid can wear pancake makeup and a matching tutu.

The left is not trying to shut down religion. The left is tired of religion forcing itself on the people that believe other truths.

I personally think that both political parties in the US (liberals and conservatives) can often be intolerant and extremist.
And the bug is spreading to parts of Northern Europe too.

One doesn't see the typical aussie, kiwi or european approach all these political matters like most of you GBers do.
Altho when things don't get nasty like they occasionally do, your guys' passion is part of your charm.;):)

Ask your husband which test or scan we can run on an infant brain that will tell us, for certain, what the adult's gender identity will be.

When he can give me that information, then I will consider his musings as actual science and not just a goal-orientated theory.

Argument from ignorance! AJ strikes again!

His point is fallacious vis-a-vis "religion." The Left hates the idea of Christian morality being shoved down their throats, but loves the idea of shoving their version of morality down upon our culture. Petey is part and parcel of the new morality police.

Unfortunately, their morality is the Nihilistic moral relativist movement that swept through Germany in the late 1870s and the 1880s which lead to the rise of the cult of Socialism and culminated in the cult of National Socialism.

My husband wrote this. A good read.

The article is behind a pay wall, but luckily I have access. I've downloaded it, and might take a read later. I can hardly resist an invitation to a Science Direct article. :D ;)

One last comment before I tone down my posting:

Out of all the controversies, the myriad of attacks that I see on our Judeo - Christian framework (which is part of our shared understanding) annoys me.
When you destroy any country's traditions and history, you weaken the nation.

Countries/religion?

Who gets one with the other?

I'm an atheist myself.
But whenever I passed by a Church back home, I always experienced this almost mystical feeling and connection to the Past and to the people around me. And same in other European countries too. And Christmass and Easter were magical, all those people coming together like one.

I hate to say that I didn't experience the same in NZ and Australia. Because there were so many fvcking churches of so many different orientations, all lined up on one street!

And when you weaken the nation, you strengthen the tribes.

Then you have Balkanization and tribal warfare, either politically or shooting, as in the Balkans.

You should visit a place like Emporia, KS where the bars and churches compete for space on the street...
