Sex + vacation = sexcation?

Trying to plan a getaway with the wife for some fun in the sun. Has anyone stayed at the Dr. Nights resort in the DR? Be curious to what you thought about it, etc.

It was terrible.

I hear that Busybody loved it though.

Just go to Hedonism in Negril. I have not heard anything about Dr. Nights.
But for some reason when I read that, I thought of Dr. Teeth from the muppets, which isn't sexy.

My two cents, for whatever it may be worth...

I've never been there, and I didn't even know a sex vacation, inclusive of companions, was a thing you could do. So, now I know. The photos on their website seem pretty clear on what you can expect (a wide variety of young nude white women).

I have been to the Dominican Republic, though, and it's a beautiful country with a rich history and spectacular food, music, ruins, people, beaches... My main suggestion is to venture FAR outside the resort as much as possible, and spend most of your time and money in the surrounding areas, exploring and supporting smaller, local-owned businesses.

It would be a tragedy (in my opinion) to travel all that way and spend most of your time and money in a typical, sterile resort that caters to the whims of wealthy foreigners, and may as well be located in any city, USA.

This is what happens when people travel to Jamaica.

Jamaica is a very poor country but people never leave the resorts to see how the majority of people really live.

A lot of the population live in huts with no running water or even roofs over their heads.

Lots of crime and people living in shacks, large population of single mothers that are not even in their 20's, yet.

No, I haven't. I've never been to the Caribbean. I expect if I ever go I won't come back so I'm waiting for my girls to grow up and go away to college lol

However re: your "sex + vacation = sexcation?" what do you think inspired the "What Happens In Vegas Stays In Vegas" slogan? I can't even count the number of times I've knocked on a VIP suite to deliver tickets or comps or something and there's people, often three, four, five or six or more having sex.

Multiply that by like the 800 regular rooms in our casino, times like 20 other upscale and premium resorts, not even counting all the other lower end "bargain" resorts and you'll see that Sexcation is a very, VERY thriving industry! :)

We usually have at least three runners in our Concierge department on Fridays, Saturdays and long weekends and I promise you sometimes practically all one of them does is run back and forth to the Adult Super Store for our guests - and that's just for our VIP guests!

I agree, Americans often visit resorts in the developing world, in places like Costa Rica and Jamaica, and usually never bother to leave the resort, because resorts are familiar and "safe" and comfortable and feel like home. And that's sad for a few reasons, not only for the tourists themselves, who miss-out on all the personal benefits of intentionally leaving your comfort zone, but also very sad for local communities and families, who rarely if ever see any real or sustainable financial benefit or change from foreign investments.

My instinct, though, is to question this description of Jamaica as incomplete. Seems overly bleak and one-sided to me, perhaps even ethnocentric. I mean, problems like poverty and crime are not unique to Jamaica, and usually exist right along side kindness and beauty and plenty of other strengths.

Wow, just like America, but only smaller!

Despite their differences, people are pretty much the same people doing the same people things when ya get down to the nitty gritty. It's truly a small world after all, innit! ;)

You go inside the cage?
[Hooper nods]
Quint: Cage goes in the water, you go in the water. Shark's in the water. Our shark.
[sings]
Quint: Farewell and adieu to you, fair Spanish ladies. Farewell and adieu, you ladies of Spain. For we've received orders for to sail back to Boston. And so nevermore shall we see you again.
