Right now no federal money (hyde remember) pays for abortion directly. Yes the clinics get fed money - so do hospitals and they perform abortions too remember - for basic treatments. Many states are banned from allowing it covered by insurance, all federal employee insurance is banned from covering it. So at this point women are paying for their abortions.

We don't ask the medicare or disability insurance recipient to qualify or justify their decisions in regards to their health. Why would you expect women to in regards to abortion?

Abortion will be legal still. Plenty of Doctors in all kinds of reputable places besides Planned Parenthood (as you point out) will continue to provide abortions, and the ones currently working at Planned Parenthood can pop over to any hospital on the rare occaision they need to do an abortion. how about if we just set aside the exact same amount that we're currently sending to Planned Parenthood and divvy it out to clinics and Community Hospitals that do not happen to do abortions in their particular facility and make sure that all those dollars continue to go to women's health care. I think Women's Healthcare is important and I think that having it be mixed up with the whole abortion controversy (that hardly ever happens at PP) is hurting women and I think we should just avoid that needless slander and let's just fund the very few abortions that ever happen in this country you know that 3% of what Planned Parenthood does with just voluntary donations from anyone who feels the need to help out.
