Trump was not the subject of an investigation

The broader RWCJ universe is furiously spinning up a "HILLARY DONORZ WITCH HUNT" tantrum so it still feels unlikely that anything will change before midterms, but sure knocks the wind out of the sails of any idiot who thought Trump was "vindicated" by Comey's testimony.

I don't think he'll fire Mueller.

But then, I didn't think he'd fire Comey.

But it looks like he sure is now.

Brought entirely upon himself. Irony is fun!

Oh, I was just reading an armchair attorney thread in which the RWCJ crew were actually arguing among themselves about WHY Mueller should be fired now. First they love Comey, then they hate him. First Mueller is nonpartisan, now he's BFF with Comey and in on the witch hunt.

I miss the days where the biggest scandal was the president's birth certificate.

BENGHAZI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The leak out of the Special Counsel's office that the President is under investigation is in itself a violation of the Special Counsel law that could be grounds for Mueller's firing.

Shut your dumb cunt mouth, vettebitch.

Trump's presidency has been fraught with leaks....before Mueller.

His staff must really dislike him.

I'm not certain he realizes this, but he really CAN'T fire Mueller. As Rosenstein correctly testified recently to Congress, a special counsel, by law, can only be fired "for cause." That's a whole different ball of wax than Comey's former world.

And now that the President is actually the subject of an obstruction of justice investigation (irrespective of its alleged "legitimacy"), firing Mueller would become a self-defeating, literally suicidal act -- it would almost certainly comprise an obstruction of justice regardless of whether he is currently guilty of the crime.

Almost everyone on the White House staff has to know this. But the one person who needs to take it to heart the most may be having none of it.:confused::confused:

Almost everything I've read about this is saying that pretty much everyone who has Trumps ear is telling him not to do it. I would hope he'd listen to one of them but so far that hasn't been his style.

Nobody special. Longtime lurker became poster.

That is almost never true, and if it were, it probably wouldn't involve someone starting two threads and going on a posting tear on their first day.

But on the off chance that you are, indeed, a new poster, hello and welcome.

It's dizzying, mystifying, and utterly predictable. I no longer have a lower boundary for my expectations of the Republican party.

The curse of poor impulse control.

It's almost like putting a reckless, narcissistic child in charge of the country was a bad idea. If only we could have seen this coming.

Lol, yep. Please send your resume to Trump. I think he's desperate for help.

I assume it's been explained to him that he'd need to fire Rosenstein and that it would virtually guarantee a legally sound obstruction of justice case, but the way he handled the Comey firing was one hell of a blunder. I just don't think we can take anything for granted in the current political climate, especially with a loud and crazy chorus of "Witch hunt! Fire him!" coming from his base.

It sounds like his inner circle is more aware of the political danger than they were the last time around and even the rumors were met with swift and decisive backlash. We'll see what happens.

I would guess Trump is ecstatic at this news. He fumed for weeks (months?) that Comey wouldn't publicly address the issue of Trump being under investigation.
Now it's public.

Trump has proven he is his own man and will do as he wishes, despite sound counsel from advisers. His trolling of the London mayor, using the attack to bolster his agenda, and then continuing to call it a travel "ban" has proven just how unmanageable his. Yes, his base does love it though, as evident by many here - until they start crying about courts continuing to block his ban. I just can't foresee him starting to listen now.

Another stunningly intellectual contribution. Does Ish print these out and put em up on the fridge? I believe there's a question awaiting your response - are you a liar, or just dumb?

I guess a dried up old cuntt like you wouldn't understand. You want to follow me around like a bitch then hide like a pussy when I respond in kind? Ha!! Weak.

I get it. Even though the Post, like others of its kind, has had to print retractions eveytime someone goes before congress you still believe them.

You are like the lefts dumber version of Miles.

At least he had a family. What do you have you old dried up cunt? Nothing. Just your nasty self. Have fun with that! :rose:

Huh? English is your third language, right? Anyway, I don't know or care what the fuck you're talking about, but you're welcome to go play with yourself in your fat thread.
