So I was 'talking' with another Litster about different stuff on the boards, and this query sprung to mind: Why are there SO many political posts on the general board when there is one specifically for politics, and directly underneath the general board to boot? And, why should there have to be a subforum for all things non-political? It boggles the mind.

You want the whole history as short as possible?

This was always the politics board, from the beginning. I know. I was here. If you didn't like it you could ignore it or frequent the playground and many of the specific moderated threads for specific interests. Well, after a while, we began to get calls to remove politics, mainly from those lovers of free speech, the board Liberals and alligator-tears crowd. So not too long ago, to appease her friends, Laurel put up a Politics Forum. I'm not going there because the enemies of free speech are trying to force me to that.

Since then, when their gambit failed, they began agitating for a safe zone, a GB that was moderated to keep the free speech overs from being offended.

I don't follow them there.

This is home.

Well Forrest, if that's the way it is, then that's the way it is. Since I'm still relatively new, I wasn't here at this forum's inception, hence the question. Now that you've clarified things for me, it's all crystal clear. I don't have a problem with it per se, I just didn't understand why all politics weren't covered in one venue. I would much rather read this than the liberal drivel on the political board anyway. I tend to be more of a centrist these days, leaning to the right.

What is it about "you can post anything [within our few rules] you want on the General Board" that so many people have trouble understanding?

There isn't enough action on the Politics board, so Litsters interested in politics do most of our political posting in the GB. That will not change, and setting up a separate Politics forum was probably not Lauren's best idea, but there were complaints at the time of too much politics in the GB.

To piss off the maximum number of posters.

Do your panties always get twisted this easily? Daymn!

He's actually pretty sedate, for a GeeBee "oldie". Now, if you really wanna "fit in" , a naked titty pic is obligatory.

Welcome, or, if you're a returnee posting as a n00b... Welcum back!

On the main forum page, the description under "General Board" reads, "Want to talk about something not covered anywhere else? Try this board!" Since there is a board that covers politics, it was a legitimate question. If you didn't have a legitimate answer, why respond?

Attention and drama whores and queens use the GB for political rants. PB is a quiet wasteland. No one pays it much attention. No sense trolling in fishless waters.

Every newbie asks this question. I did when I came here. Just the way things are.

At least in the Lounge you can follow threads which don't becoming flaming within the first page.

AJ couldn't clarify butter.

Who the fuck are you? If you don't have anything of worth to contribute, why don't you get yourself back to the BDSM forum. You surely should not be presenting yourself as an authority here.

I didn't say I AM new. I said "...relatively new," smart ass... 😉

What was your last username, dude?
