Climate continues to change.

But that effect would be mostly localized to Western Europe. Russia, being too far from the Gulf Stream to be warmed by it now (which is why they get such long cold winters), would not be affected. Meanwhile, the average global temperature would continue to rise.

And northern North America as ice sheets move south. See how the ME likes hordes of northern Europeans fleeing the advancing ice. Make for a good supply of white folk looking to emigrate to America. That should keep the RWCJ types happy.

Of course if the Gulf Stream is affected that could happen ,but the rise in sea temperature could offset it .
However I believe the world outside of the USA can and will do something about it ,leaving the USA as a global pariah .

US can hang with the 3rd world developing nations like China and India.

Not looking forward to the return of acid rain with the gutting of the EPA and industry flunkies at the helm.

How would a change in the flow of the Gulf Stream cause that?

Once the ice starts to grow it will encompass much of the north. Not just turn the UK into Labrador. Increased albedo will reflect sun's heating.

And you can hang with us. If the ice sheets move south, you can't live in Canada any more.

Australia then. But I will be long dead by then. Not my problem. And no kids so don't feel personally guilty about leaving world worse off. Although I am quite green.

Then there's this little item.

Ice Age Now

The cycles referred to in the article are well known. And the counter-arguments are at the tail end of the article.

Who's right? Well, it seems we're going to find out soon enough. But I can tell you this, warmer is better than colder.

Thanks for the clickbait.

The scientist quoted in the tabloid says her research was misrepresented, and the rag's conclusion was wrong. http://www.iflscience.com/environment/mini-ice-age-not-reason-ignore-global-warming/

Strictly speaking we're in an ice age now, although what is called an "interglacial period" of it. Geologists apply the term "ice age" to any period when there is ice at the poles -- sometimes there isn't. Humanity has lived its entire existence in an ice age and is not adapted to anything else.

Now you are minimizing.

I can fucking read furry foot. I fully understand that the reporter started with the worst case scenario. It all falls under "if it bleeds, it leads." But in the end that guess is no better or worse than the guesses of the, "Oh my God, we're going to roast!" crowd. But even in the blurb you linked that scientist in question falls back on 'maybe', could be', might be.' Everybody's guessing what's going to happen.

And I still reiterate, warmer is better than colder.

I try to avoid that myself. There's this really shiny bright thing out there. I don't like it, and I've heard it's bad for the skin.
You know, if someone made the discovery that climate change is causing white skin to grow darker, there would be a lot more support for action.

You are totally out of your fucking mind.

Well, if you make it up it's too easy to check, isn't it? We'll know acid rain is happening if and when some government agency or scientific organization detects and reports it, and then it will be in the news.

You don't really believe that.
