Ask Dr Liz Is Retiring

Chances are, only Liz can talk to the mods. And I have never known of a mod to pop into a thread to explain a decision

I don't like The Beatles & I see someone posted in the music thread that's what they're listening to so I'd better run to a robot mod & bitch until the music thread is deleted

Whoever made the call to delete the threads is a DUMBASS!!!!!!!
Funny how you can make an alt on here then bully, cause shit, make fun of others & that's all fine but the moment some shit for brains cries about a thread it's instantly removed.
Common sense does not exist with anyone who has authority on here. No fun allowed

A little birdie has explained to me that there were issues with copyrights on some of the images posted in the threads.

I don't understand the need to eliminate an entire thread over a few images however. It seems some housekeeping would be more appropriate.

Perhaps some appeals to certain people could get them restored.

That would get about a third of the threads here closed

It has gotten many closed. But I still don't see the need to close entire threads rather than edit or remove individual posts.

That would call for common sense lol
Chargergirl & Garnat will give explanations
CG removes just a thread with an explanation, usually an underage reference

Dear Dr. Liz

I paid in advance so you can't leave.

My wife and I have only occasionally posted on your threads. Mostly because we really are sane and don't need sexual advice or help.

In reality there are few useful threads here on Lit. Yours was entertaining and sometimes helpful. I'm still going to ASK DR LIZ when I have a problem.

Usually Mods can't "delete" a thread, but they can move it. Typically only the Admins (Manu and Laurel) can delete. But I know many boards have and area they can move threads so the Admins can look.

If that is the case, it can be cleaned up and restored, but that's only if they want to take the time to clean it up and restore it.

I'm sorry they got removed. :(

I think everyone should post "Dr. Liz" in every thread regardless of the topic as a sign of solidarity until a justified reason is given or the thread is restored!!! Grab your torches and pitchforks... Who's with me????

Why am I running alone???

No, not even laurel or manu can delete a thread. What they do is hide it.

No, they can remove threads entirely. Mods can only move them to the mod queue. When Laurel blitzes a thread its gone forever.

Yes they can. My husband and I own a bulletin board with the same software and him and I are the only ones that can hard delete threads.

Please use discretion

I hope there is consideration for these long running & entertaining threads, not to mention the original poster has been a contributing member for years. Please remove what may have offended someone, if deemed inappropriate, and reinstate the thread.

From what we can all see, there is much love for the threads. We enjoy them and would like to continue posting, joking, flirting, and laughing when we read them. This site is entertaining and I sincerely hope this festive balloon ride is not going down because of a small tear at the threads. Hopefully it can be repaired and restored.

Out of thousands of members, one person's complaint gets a thread or two deleted?
Ok,then. High school,anyone?

And Liz and I hardly exchanged posts. But a forum should appreciate someone who takes time and effort to create threads that keep members staying and new members joining.

I asked laurel where a closed thread had gone and she said she hid it, and she led me to believe that was SOP; that they don't actually delete threads. This is why I said what I said.

I see why you would think that, but again, when Laurel removes a thread she doesn't put it in the mod queue like we mods do. I can go into the mod queue and see all removed threads, but not the ones she's removed. I've checked a couple times when I know it was her that deleted a thread.

Also, it wasn't Laurel that removed Liz's threads.

Although, thinking about it, maybe theres a special Laurel queue where she puts things that no one else but she can see? It's a possibility!:rose:

So far, the staffers I've asked don't know why or even who.

The two threads seem to be in limbo rather than deleted.

Is there anything we can do to help get them put back or is that just never going to happen? This does seem really ridiculous when so many were enjoying Liz's threads. I don't blame her for being so frustrated!!

Meanwhile, whatsherface who reported her was on a posting frenzy earlier today.

Yes this is a possibility. I can "hide" threads I want to deal with later. If I need/want to clean up a thread, I can hide it from the mods. So yes, Admins can also hide threads, but typically do that because they want the other admin to see it before deleting it, or want to clean it up. So hopefully that means if this one was hidden, that there is a chance it will get cleaned up and restored.
I'm guessing a forum of this size, they don't have time to do that in a day or two, so it could be hidden until they do, or done at their own pace.

Hopefully it will be restored. :)
