What does one do with a spare Sunday in that capital of yours? I mean, it ain't gonna take me all day to tick of the basic touristy stuff. That seems to be conveniently all located along the edge of the same big-ass lawn.

Apparently I missed the march of the nerds what went down today.

Anything non-obvious I should check out?

Be surprised how long it takes to see the touristy stuff. Capital, White House, Smithsonian, the various memorials, FBI, CIA, Arlington, Fords Theater.

Ah crap, forgot the Smithsonian. Well, that's most of the day then.

About a week. There's about eleventy one different museums in the Smithsonian.

Thought as much, so now I've gone from having nothing to do to triage time. Heh.

Your timing is good. It's the last week Washington DC will be open.

Obama's final tally: 333 rounds of golf as POTUS

Oh right, it's the weekend. Is this round 13 or 14 for him?

Good evening, Rob.

I thought you might enjoy reading this article.

By the way, Adre said he enjoyed his ride in your pink Cadillac & he really appreciated you letting him use your pink cell phone.

Barack Obama exited the White House Friday, and thus ended his two terms in office.

The 44th president often spent his leisure and vacation time on the golf course, especially during his second term in office.

According to CBS News White House Correspondent Mark Knoller, Obama played 333 rounds as president. Obama's last round came on December 31 while on vacation in Hawaii. Knoller tweeted it was Obama's 46th round of his final year in office.

Obama averaged about 41 rounds a year, but he never came close to Presidents Woodrow Wilson or Dwight Eisenhower, who were estimated to have played 1,200 and 800 rounds, respectively.

The Obamas headed to Palm Springs after President Donald Trump's inauguration Friday for some R&R. There was no indication if Obama packed his clubs, but Knoller tweeted Obama has "made 6 trips to Palm Springs as pres., and played 16 rounds of golf at five different courses in the area."

Get mugged, eat some good food if you can afford it and maybe do some rails of coke off a whooooooorz ass.

Not really, it's a fuckin' shit hole and most of our touristy shit is about as unimpressive live as it is online in picture format, some of it more so.

Like Mt.Rushmore....underwhelming mediocrity surrounded by hype.

Stay in the hotel and watch HBO, better use of your time.

Isn't that the point of touristy landmarks though? To go there so you can say you went there, while privately thinking "What, was that it?"

Some there need to be seen. The Lincoln Memorial and Vietnam Wall have to be experienced. Maybe someone from another country won't feel the same way but to an American there is something to them that is felt when you are there.
Not too many Americans can start reading the names on the wall and not feel something. And to stand before Lincoln and read his best speeches may be purely American but it is without a doubt powerful.
Not a big fan of Washington or Jeffersons memorials but as a tourist thing they need to be seen.
Arlington is just incredible. It has to be seen.

Sounds like a wast of time and money to me.

I'd stick to the high end eats, hookers and drugs.

I've been an American all my life and have never had the least desire to go to D.C. :)

Nice enough city. Snoozy as all hell on a sunday though apparently.

Curious observation: I've never seen so many god damn squirrels in one place before. My guess is that someone told them the Capitol is full of nuts.
