Trump team ultimatum: No more talks, time to vote

Excuse me? We have just witnessed a stunning Republican failure on every possible front. Trump, the "amazing businessman" behind the art of the deal humiliated himself. He may have violated propaganda laws as a cheerleader of this steaming pile of horseshit, proved himself utterly incapable of successful negotiation, and broke his promise to the country with his tail between his legs and his middle fingers up. The "moderate" conservatives, who have done nothing but obstruct obstruct obstruct were forced to show their cards and they have NOTHING. They are a shell game and nothing more.

And you come in here with advice that the Democrats need to be ready to compromise?

Do you really not see it? The GOP is not a thing any more. It is a scam. They stand for nothing. If the crazy far right starts to make progress, it's because people like you are too cowardly to abandon party lines as the leaders on your side embrace white supremacy.

I don't believe they will rebound and unfuck themselves after this. Plus, there isn't enough of them with the same core beliefs to make an impact. They banded together for #45's victory but now that they are receiving the precedent for what he really is, they are jumping ship by the tiny handfuls.

And I truly feel that the young republicans that latched onto #45's whispy rug have a serious case of buyer's remorse and have pulled themselves back to the middle.

Don't get me wrong - the dems have a whole lot of unfucking to do themselves. There were a lot of problems with some of Hillary's policies, but at least she fucking had some. Trump had nothing. It was obvious, and people still voted for him. And as soon as he got in, he appointed a bunch of (m/b)illionaire race-baiting (the real kind, not the Faux News kinds) scumbags who are proceeding to dismantle everything.

"And now we'll wait for the democrats to do the right thing and come to us."

No. Fix your shit. Jesus christ.

The Dems need to unfuck themselves from the pansy division and start cranking the screws down when they have a chance. They aim high, take what the Pubs leave them for scraps and then turn to the people and say, "Looky what we did! Yay!".

Fuck that, if you're right and the people are behind you, you need to drive your issues all the way home.

Bet you a full LB of Cherry Bomb or True OG (D) never do it.

I bet they sell the fuck out again the first chance they get just like they always do and all the (D) fans defend it like the greatest thing since sliced bread, just like they always do.

:D

LAWLZ, you know the way to my heart.

I really hope they pull up their panties and get it together. This clusterfuck should've been avoided and easily could have been avoided.

It would be nice, but this happens EVERY time on both sides.

Every time one gets all the power the party infighting over doing what was promised and getting the big bucks paid back for campaign contributions starts and it all goes to shit.

And we get bullshit like the ACA clusterfuck.

Citizens United fucked the system up so bad it's going to take them 50 years to do anything approaching comprehensive HC reform at this point.

Hmm, not tonight. I'm basking in the fail. And I've got a headache.

It's not a debate, nationalism =/= white supremacy....no matter what Salon says.

Do you think health insurance policies should be able to ban pre-existing conditions?

Is that an "acceptable" compromise, in your view? Hmmm?

I think if you can enroll after you have learned you have a disease that's very expensive to treat, what you are enrolling in is not "insurance."

There you are then. Now you just need to redefine poverty as a pre-existing condition, and ram your plan through Congress.

And this passage from your link might offer a tip that Democrats should seriously consider:

And the Democrats would be well-advised of the potential dangers of not meeting Trump half way.

It is undeniably tempting for any Democrat to watch today's rift between the two major factions of the Republican party and think that all they need do for the next two years is stand gleefully by and watch an incompetent President preside over the GOP's demise.

But I would caution them to be careful what they wish for. Trump's mantra through this drama was that conservative Republicans were going to have to ultimately answer to their constituents for not taking advantage of this singular opportunity for repealing and replacing Obamacare.

But what if the conservative Republican base who elected Trump spins it another way and decides that Trump and Ryan were the real traitors to the cause by championing what Rand Paul called "Obamacare lite"? If that should happen, then Democrats AND moderate Republicans might have reason to fear a right wing future even more unstable than the one in power now.

Yeah, I know that might seem hard to believe, but don't discount the possibility. Trump is NOT a true conservative ideologue, and he has put the fear of God in everyone by having a dark angel of Hell in Steve Banon so close to the seat of power. If moderate Democrats fail to entertain the possibility of cutting their party's losses in the last election, there is absolutely no guarantee that they might not be pushing us all in a direction we don't really want to go.

After all, right wing anger was a major component in getting Trump elected in the first place. Gambling that "kicking Trump's ass" for the next four years won't be throwing more gasoline on an already raging fire is NOT an insignificant raise to an inside straight.

It's weird how often I hear, "Yeah Trump is terrible, but the right elected Trump because the left did X!"

No, the right elected Trump because the right wanted Trump. And if they elect some farther right fringe after him, it will be their own doing, it won't be the left's fault for being mean to Trump.

You don't get to both put Trump in power and tell the people who voted AGAINST him it's their fault. The right elected Trump, they can own him. And if they elect something worse after him, they own that too.

And honestly I would prefer a further right idealogue like Rand Paul over Trump, at least he'd reduce defense spending and stop bombing random countries. And his drug policies are sane.

Okay. I didn't perhaps say it as clearly as I should have. My concern is that there are not enough people like me IN the Republican party to make a difference by leaving it should the resurgence to the right continue.

I did not vote in this past election because I was away from my polling place. But I would NOT have voted for Trump. Current party leaders are not going to embrace white supremacy. But the victory by the far right today only makes them stronger. Perhaps even eventually strong enough to pass a health care bill they would REALLY like -- because the current bill wasn't conservative ENOUGH.

I'm just saying that at some point, a bipartisan coalition of the political middle better find a way to regain some control, or it won't matter which extremists "win." Everyone else will lose.

It's better to have insurance you don't have to mortgage the house to use. if you have a deductible that's too high to afford, what good is your insurance?

So you would rather have no insurance than insurance with a high deductible in the event of a catastrophic illness? Sure you would.

The problem I had with my company's insurance was a high deductible and a ten thousand dollar per incident cap. For that I would have to pay $120 a month. Yeah they offered insurance but it was not worth buying.

I too did not vote for Trump. I applaud what the Freedom Caucus has done. This was a bad bill and the three-part launch was fucking nonsense, I am also pleased to see that the Democrats get to keep Obamacare and that it lives for another year. I want them to enjoy the benefits of that which they created and the pain that it will inflict upon the American people; they will be able to crow about how they put the brakes on the economy and pat themselves on the back assured that the next election is in the bag for them because of the overwhelming support for the ACA. There's one thing in it for almost everybody!

;) ;)

I would drive down costs by eliminating pool insurance, eliminating state mandates and allowing insurance to cross lines and allowing them to sell any sort of policy they wanted and not force men to pay for pregnancy and other stupid shit. If a policy doesn't have exactly what you want covered, then purchase a rider(s). Health care savings accounts are also a very good idea.

If you have a pre-existing condition, then you can go on medicaid or Medicare which should be block-grant programs so we can see what works and what does not.

The problem I have with our family's current situation is that it has become very expensive in terms of premiums, deductibles and co-pays.

No shit?

You posted about waking up with issues concerning your left side and felt you may have suffered a stroke. A pre existing condition. A good one! Heart issues can be very expensive.

With the original trumpcare not covering pre existing conditions, what ever would you have done for healthcare coverage??

Petey, please stop being stupid. I cannot believe how idiotic you are willing to make yourself look when it comes to the opportunity to take a shot at me.

The person who cannot get insurance because of a pre-existing condition is a person who did not have insurance when he was healthy. I've had insurance for a very long time now, so switching policies (which I have done three times in the past few years) is never a problem because I have always had insurance.

Next time, do your fucking homework before you launch into attack mode.

This is why you are on ignore. Your politics turn you into a moron.

It was far from being attack mode. Stop being such a pussy. I do not give a fuck if you ignore me or not. It changes nothing about what I say and where I say it.

You posted you fix ideas in another thread. One of those ideas was to toss the pre existing condition issue to medicare/medicaid. The problem with that is the huge number of people that fall into that category, you possibly being one of them.
