Genius: 'an exceptionally intelligent person or one with exceptional skill in a particular area of activity'. I would contend such a gift is nature rather than nuture. It could be that a certain writing talent could be labelled 'genius'. My genius hero is Sir Isaac Newton, but I would consider anyone that can move me through art of some description a genius. So . . . maybe 'genius' is simply personal perception and preference. There are a couple of writers on here I would label as 'genius' in my world. This is down to content and creativity. I have not read a single story on this site (well into four figures now) that was grammatically error free.

I recall a brainiac with a stellar GPA who blew out grad school her first semester in it. None of her grades rose above C, and a C don't count in grad school. Grad school demands a different skill-set than undergrad. She was smart in a general way
