Pubs' ACA replacement: The American Health Care Act

Yes, they do. The working class mostly gets health care through their employers and they don't have to pay taxes on the employer contribution.

That's how it is now and the AHCA wouldn't change it, so what's in it for them? And that doesn't help those who are unemployed or who might not qualify for coverage.

Who is them?

And (R) voters don't care about the unemployed or those who might not qualify for coverage.

(D)'s don't really seem to give a fuck either.

Wait a min ... "The language, if passed, would block Planned Parenthood from receiving Medicaid reimbursements"

So they are not as big of pussies as I thought.

The working-class voters.

Why do you keep ignoring this?

The AHCA will include age-based tax credits for those who earn less than $75,000, or $150,000 for joint filers.

Many Pub voters do fall into one category or both.

Not enough and they clearly don't vote along those lines otherwise they wouldn't be voting (R).

You seem convinced the rest of the country is as pissed about Trump and the GOP as Salon is ......and they just aren't.

The AHCA will never make it to Trump's desk.

Cheeseboy doesn't have the votes in the House.

Turtleman doesn't have the votes in the Senate.

They had eight years to think about it and they come up with this turkey? Ryan is way fucking overrated as a policy expert.

I think now that everyone is off their high campaigning horse its suddenly "Let's do actual conservative shit" and "Let's get paid!!!" (R)'s fighting each other and accomplishing nothing in the process.

ACA should have just been gone like a month ago.

Because I misunderstood it from the way you phrased it previously -- I thought you meant there are tax breaks for those who earn more than $75k, which is not a working-class income.

Anyway you look at it, poor people over 60 making less than $20K a year (Hello AJ!) are going to really take a hit.

It's possible they could scrape together the votes in the House, but the real question is if they want to go through the trouble if it looks like it can't pass the Senate.

As other people have pointed out, the fact that Trump has shown no interest in personally branding the bill is a sign even he knows it's a dog.

Right, he'd put his name on a lice infested flop house if he thougt he could make ten bucks on it.

On average no...but that once again depends on where you live.

180k/yr in SF is borderline poverty, 75 would barely cover rent.

That would have been electoral suicide for anyone who so voted.

You keep confusing (R)'s for progressive socialist.

And will have to take care of their own shit instead of fucking everyone under 60 for their problems.

Awwwwww

A great many Red State voters are just getting by.

According to you and even the ones that are, not really a signifigant % of (R)'s base.

Regardless of ideology, they will not thank a Congresscritter who repeals ACA without replacing it.

Then why do they keep electing and voting for pol's who vow to repeal it?

You keep confusing major metro "I need the gummint to wipe my ass for me!!" liberal areas with "Fuck off and get the fuck out of my way." america.

The Republican's have had 7 years to put together a health care plan that would benefit ALL Americans. The AHCA is not that plan.

Two choices..

1. Leave ObamaCare as is & move on.

2. Take a long, hard look at Bernie's Medicare for all plan.

2. Take a long, hard look at Bernie's Medicare for all plan.

If the present Congress does that, it had better provide thorough coverage for injuries caused by flying pigs and falling pig feces. But at least the new Infernal Ice Age might mitigate global warming.

If the present Congress does nothing, Obama's 2010 could become Trump's 2018.

And the same might happen if the present Congress does something.

Only if that something is what the (D)'s wanted and not what (R)'s elected their "We vow to repeal EVERY word of Obamacare!!" to do .

If the GOP does that it loses votes. Even the red-state pols are finding that out, that's why so many of them are afraid even to show up for their town hall meetings, and those who do show up have cause to regret it.

Republican Rep. Peter Roskam of Illinois is even blaming Trump for "ugly politics."

Keep an eye on the Illinois Governor's race in 2018. RFK's son, Chris, is running against incumbent Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner. Kennedy has a better than 50/50 chance of winning.

Once again, not a significant number.

No they are afraid to show up because they were elected on (R) rhetoric and went to D.C. only to vote like a Democrat.
