The (Russian) Plot Thickens

Uh-oh. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo) caught lying about contact with Russians. Denies evrr meeting or speaking with russian ambassador. She's been on Armed Services Committee for ten years. Her own Tweets contradict her. investigation needed. She should redign.

Doesn't matter tho. She's gone in 2018. Sayonara Claire, don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.

Funny, I don't recall ever swearing an oath before using Twitter, and I'm pretty sure that's a requirement for perjury.

Yep. He already said he'd recuse himself where appropriate. He did. Move on, no big deal. Alreadu Sessions is showing more integrity than Loretta Lynch ever had.

Well this is odd.

DJT said he is 100% behind Sessions and "he shouldn't recuse himself" a few hours ago, Sessions and Sean Sphincter said he was 100% truthful" in Congress, and now...he recuses himself. Hmmmmm

If you're "100%" innocent why step down?

If BREITBART says it's all fake news, nothing to it, bogus report, why step down? Perhaps BREITBART is the fake ass news.

Obviously Trump and Co. KNOW the FBI has major major dirt on them.

This is what happens when you stand in front of the Gold Star wall bragging about the size of your crowds!

Agreed, and look how fast/easily he folded. That seems to say a lot to me. Flynn went fairly quickly and now Sessions. I would expect the White House to try to distance itself from anyone dirty without hesitation.

Even if you have the most open minded stance towards Trump they all keep acting like they have something to hide.

So it's against federal law for a member of the Senate Armed Forces Committee to meet with a foreign ambassador? You progtards actually believe that? No damn wonder Trump and Co. whipped your collective asses last November. Y'all keep drinking that Kool-Aid.

Sessions lied about not meeting with the Russians. That's the issue. Sound familiar?

Never read your stuff. All I know is you come here cutting and pasting other people's writing, and when you do speak in your own voice it's a crazy hateful mess of Trumpian propaganda chewed up and spit out from Right Wing sewers. So, not a coherent, original thought in your head.

I guess there's always the possibility of a genuine idiot savante, my apologies.

Lol. Apart from my first, which was a big learning curve, all completely original, j'assure. I'm just good. Honestly, that's beneath you. You're a good writer yourself. I'm quite happy denigrating your politics but I'd never denigrate your writing skills.

Besides, this politics stuff is fun. Never done this before but with some practice, I'm sure I'll get better. You guys are certainly good coaches and hey, isn't it boring without someone to disagree with?

Exactly. And, it is so grossly exaggerated by his contradictory bull shit statements in the past. The seeming reluctance of Comey to give up the facts to congress also smells bad. Then there is the continuing issue of the dossier, McCain and others are proposing to meet with the British Spy in a safe location out of the country to get back up data about that problem. Could be a great summer.

No, it's against the law to lie in testimony before a congressional committee. Do try to keep up.

"Their only claim against Sessions is that Sessions, while Senator, talked to the Russian ambassador twice in 2016. Franken, during the Attorney General confirmation proceedings, talked about “ties to Russia” and asked if Senator Session had discussed the Trump campaign “with Russian government officials.” Sessions answered he had not. Sessions has no “ties with Russia” and there is no evidence he discussed the Trump campaign with any Russian official." See link below.

If you've seen the entire question that batshit crazy Franken asked you'd have seen and heard the entire question in its original context; ie, did Sessions act in a capacity as a Trump surrogate when speaking to the Russian Ambassador. Since neither I, you, Al Franken, nor anyone else from your side of the aisle were present at that meeting I'll take Jeff Session's answer to the question as truthful.

I have a surprise for you, I am keeping up. Oh, in case you missed it, Donald Trump is the POTUS.

I did hear the whole question and the whole answer--several times today on recording. The context you give isn't what's on the recording. I'm sorry that you are a Trump/Russian dupe/dope, but that's your problem.

Lol. Wrong.

Franken asked Sessions, IF it came out that people in the Trump campaign had been talking to Russian officials, quote, "What would you do?"

Its all on the ol' videotape. he didn't say anything near what you said he did.

Then batshit crazy Sessions took it upon himself to ramble on the answer that's got him into trouble.

"Well ah know nothin' about that. Ah've been described as a 'surrogate' on more than one occasion, and ah never met with any Russian officials."

Cha-ching!

Yes, you did meet with Russian government officials. So, you lied.

Wrong.

THat's not their "only claim," in fact it's not a claim they're making AT ALL against him.

Their claim is he did not disclose those meetings in the Congressional hearings. He did not tell the whole truth--some are calling it perjury, others are saying, as Franken, he "at best misled" the Congress.

Franken did NOT ask Sessions if he had "discussed the Trump campaign" with "Russian gov't officials." (See above, or watch the tape for yourself.)

All Sessions had to do was say "I met with the Russian Ambassador in my capacity as Senate representative on the Armed Forces committee." Zip. Period. Nothing wrong with that. Instead he said "Ah did not meet with the Russians." Not true. That's why he's in hot water.

Again, Franken asked the question to Sessions as if Jeff Sessions was at the time acting as an advocate for the Trump campaign and Sessions answered truthfully. I realize that an honest and open election is a foreign thought to you people on the left, after all you were all for the DNC colluding against anybody and everybody not named Clinton in the democratic primary...(waving hello to Bernie.) You guys are still ass hurt that Trump won and that you lost, but honestly you should be used ton that by now. Look at the number of seats you've lost in Congress since the 2010 election, the number of governor offices y'all have pissed away, and the number of counties Republicans turned in the last presidential election. I'm sitting here laughing at you because I see what y'all are trying to do to Jeff Sessions backfiring on you all and I can see the democratic party imploding from within. But hey, keep up the lies and don't stop the shovels from turning over every single rock you think you've found, you're only digging yourselves deeper and deeper.

Absolutely untrue.

He asked him a question, What would you do IF YOU BECOME ATTORNEY GENERAL.

IF YOU FOUND OUT TRUMP ASSOCIATES WERE TALKING TO THE RUSSIANS, WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

He is talking to him AS A POSSIBLE ATTORNEY GENERAL, NOT AS A TRUMP ASSOCIATE IN ANY WAY

Got it right here on YouTube for you:

The funny thing is that Mr. Sessions is very nervous and jumpy and can't control his guilty conscience, so offers up a completely off tangent denial of something HE WAS NEVER ASKED.

The idea that "Jeff Sessions, United States Senator and Armed Services Committee Member" and "Jeff Sessions, Surrogate for the Trump Campaign" are two separate people may be the dumbest con the Trumpkins have tried to pull off yet.

He's not a creation of Robert Louis Stevenson; he's an actual person.
