They last achieved something in 2010 with the passing of Obamacare, or Pelosicare as it should be called because Obama did sod all to get it through Congress.

However, also in 2010 the Democrats not only lost 60+ seats in the mid terms, they lost 50%+ of their 'blue dog' conservatives, partly to Tea party Republicans but also because intra- party squabbling saw the liberals in the party savage their own 'blue dogs.' 2010 it could be argued, was the effective end of the Obama Presidency domestically, as the Tea Party closed down Congress therafter.

In 2016 The Dems ran Hillary, an uninspiring policy and personality free zone with no ideas, no agenda and only one hope - the Republicans had picked a certifiable maniac to run against her! And she still lost.

After 4 months of grief and anguish what have the Dems done to put their party back together. Essentially they have re-appointed or left in place the whole sorry crew that has managed their failure for the last six years. Nancy Pelosi 77 years young is the minority leader yet again - but she has promised to promote a few youngsters! Have the apparatchiks in the organizational wing who wasted millions on out dated media (TV Ads) been fired? Has the un-electable Clinton called time on her political career.

So much crap needs to be cleared out of the Democrat's Augean stables. Can it be done? Who (leaders) can do it and when?

calm down

every election cycle they say ONE side or the other is dead

Is it true that theyre canvassing Oprah Winfrey for the next Democrat candidate?!?

Cenk Uygur, founder of the Young Turks video network that has become virally popular among progressive voters, is launching a project called Justice Democrats to defeat members of the Democratic Party who have cast votes seen as unacceptable.

“The aim in 2018 is to put a significant number of Justice Democrats in the Congress. The aim for 2020 is to more significantly take over the Democratic Party,” Uygur said. “If they're going to continue to be corporate Democrats, that's doomed for failure for the rest of time.”

Justice Democrats cohered after the 2016 election, when Uygur began talking to veterans of the presidential campaign of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) about ways to challenge Democrats from the left. The Justice Democrats project counts Saikat Chakrabarti and Zack Exley, two tech veterans of the Sanders campaign, among its founders; their first goal was to provide the infrastructure and resources for progressives who wanted to challenge “corporate Democrats.”

It’s time to face the facts: the Democratic Party is broken and the corporate, establishment wing of the party is responsible. Republicans now hold most state legislatures, most governorships, the House of Representatives, the Senate, and the presidency. It’s time to rebuild the Democratic party from scratch and make it represent the American people. This is our platform.

One does need to cut them some slack since after all, they do have all these... snowflakes to lead.

However, it does get pretty scary when the snowflakes, lead the snowflakes.

And, ladies and gents, before i get banned again, that is why we join.... ahem.. a certain association.

Can I join even if i'm an outsider?

A president who sends out an angry tweet every time he is impersonated on SNL just like every POTUS since Ford is definitely a snowflake, poor little thing.

No.

The next big event is statewide elections in 2018 -- NOT the congressional elections, which probably won't change much of anything. The GOP governors who were elected in 2010 will have to leave due to term limits (most of them, anyway), so those will be open seats the Democrats can pick up during what's usually a bad election for the party that holds the White House. Even if the Dems can't flip very many state legislative seats (because they will be outspent, and given that gerrymandering is also a factor on the state level), winning governorships will at least give them some role in the next round of redistricting.

Who the "party leaders" are doesn't matter very much when you're in the minority, and there's no reason to have a rush to find a leader. If you had named "Republican leaders" in 2013, Donald Trump would have been nowhere on the list.

Democrats are done unless they embrace Average White Working Trash. Such people are 70% of America. The 3 million bureaucrats are less than 1% of America. Niggers are 12%. Fags are 3%. All the queer actors wont fill a small auditorium.

The Democrats have a future if and only if the Justice Democrats succeed. In economic as distinct from social terms, the Democratic Party in its current form is not liberal enough to win. There is far too much corporate/Wall Street/1% influence. That is one reason why Trump won -- the American people do not want the plutocracy we have now, and many voters somehow concluded only Trump could and would fight it, partly because the Democrats have presented no real opposition to the plutocracy for decades now. But if the Democrats become a real left-populist, social-democratic party, then they can win.

BAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA!!! They are the ones that sunk them.

But sure, run on "fuck white people" some more, it will work out wonders for you LMFAO!!!:D

If that were true, Sanders would have been the nominee.

No, if what you say is true Sanders would have been the nominee.

You guys got Ross Perot'ed......

The question is what's the DNC going to do?

Will they continue to be corporatist or will they join their racist "social justice" movement? I don't think "Fuck Whitey" is not the future of the DNC, no matter how badly you wish it.

No, if what you say is true Sanders would have been the nominee.

How does that follow? I'm pointing out that the Dems are not a social-democratic party at present. If they were, Sanders would have been the nominee.

Right, and if it were Sanders would have been.

So you guys sunk Clinton......you're not big enough to win but you're big enough to shit on the DNC.

Sanders = Ross Perot.

The Sanders wing did not sink Clinton, almost all of them voted for her and Sanders himself endorsed her.

Sanders = Ross Perot.

If he were, he would have mounted a third-party run and split the anti-Trump vote, but he didn't.

Best part about that is all your Sanders folks are sell out corporatist who don't believe a fucking thing they supposedly run their yaps about and even then they couldn't beat Trump!! The most unpopular candidate for POTUS of all fuckin' time LOL

But I think you've just read one too many Salon articles and are living in denial about what the DNC is and who Sanders is.

If he were, he would have mounted a third-party run and split the anti-Trump vote, but he didn't.

You mean like Perot?

No he wouldn't have, because he didn't.

Clinton/Schultz fucked him and by the time he realized what had happened that was all he could do.

Democrats will be back. Our conservatives almost lost official party status, split into two parties but managed to resurrect themselves to actually form a government for awhile. Hell our natural ruling party got bumped to 3rd place for a while.

If the Democrats are permanently damaged we are looking at a damn near single party system in the US. I doubt even the most die-hard conservative thinks single party rule is a good idea.

Democrats should hold the course. If the Republicans swing even further right and populous, the American people will be looking for a centrist aligned party.

But I think you've just read one too many Salon articles and are living in denial about what the DNC is and who Sanders is.

Sanders is a left-populist social democrat and the DNC is not; I have no illusions on either point.

What is it you think the DNC is actually?

If you're honest about it you'll see exactly why the Sanders Perot'ed Clinton and why the DNC and most Dems want nothing to do with him and the "fuck whitey" crowd.

Before every major World war, there is always a lurch to the Ultra right in the countries that get involved. It's happening right now in the US the UK and various others in Europe too.

If we get to the end of Trump's term and there hasn't been a huge war, possibly the one to end them all, I'll be very surprised.
