Fish Oil dosage

Recently I purchased in Singapore the Fish Oil Omega-3 which is believed to be the best available, when I wanted to take it, I found the instruction a little confusing, at least to me, a learner of English language.

"For adults, take one (1) softgel three times daily, preferably with a meal." Does that mean I eat three softgels total in a day, or I should split a softgel into three parts as a daily consumption?

It is not for joke, please help clarify or share your experience of eating fish oil for health. Thank you.

I interpret that as 3 capsules per day, with one capsule taken with each meal if possible.

Yeah, they want you to take 1 with breakfast, 1 with lunch, 1 with dinner.

I personally prefer to get my omega-3 in margarine that I can use to cook with.
