I get Medicare. I pay $110 a month for it. On average I see my MD 3 times per year to monitor my meds. Her fees total a few dollars less than what I pay. So tax payers aren't out any money for me or the bride.

The BIG insurance drains are the 1000s shot in Chicago every year. Mostly black males and Mexicans. Make all pay a 1% sales tax then rebate the money when they file taxes. No taxes, no rebate.

Another big problem are hospital corporations. In surance must pay the freight or send their clients elsewhere. Insurance passes the costs to you. HMOs were supposed to reduce costs but hospitals said FUCK HNOs.

Whilst worrying about paying for other people's healthcare, 'Muricans have ended up with the worst of all systems.

The UK has better care with cheaper costs. You can pick holes, but no-one in the entire country has gone bankrupt through medical costs in living memory. There are no cash registers in doctors surgeries or hospitals. Charities do not subsidise anything, nor religions.

My own sister had a pancreatic transplant, kidney transplant, a couple of vitreous fluid and eye lens / corneal transplants. Life-long diabetes and many other issues. Did not cost a red cent.

My taxes are comparable to what they would be in the US, but you pay insurance on top. "It's paid by my employer", I hear. What if that company goes under or you get fired?

Immigrants and tourists wander into hospitals and get treated for free because there are no processes for identifying and charging them. Yet it's still cheaper than the US.

You drive on roads paid for by common taxes (OMG, some poor person is driving on the road I paid for), your children go to schools paid by common taxation. But no-one may get cancer treatment without waving a credit card.

The funny thing about Obamacare is that it was largely a Republican proposal originally. Obama had no chance of progressing a Democrat policy, but when the GOP realised what was happening they ended up voting down and amending their own policy until it was ruined and no good for anyone. A bunch of chumps.

Where it all goes to Hell is with administration.

Administration is always and forever nests of elites obsessed with their pay and bennies and avoiding responsibility, though every agency has land-mines that are fatal career killers. Administration is always larded with incompetent and self-serving elites.

Nut there's no reason everyone with a social security number cant qualify for medical care today. Limit patients to what Medicaid pays for, and let the patient buy premium plans if they want to become girls or get dick transplants.
