I thought the yeast might be bad. Apparently, not.
 
I have kept yeast in my freezer for close to a year with no ill effects. I suspect it can last even longer than that.
 
I made bread from scratch once. The satisfaction I got was not worth the effort I had to put into it.
 
They say if you want to sell your house, bake bread.
 
You can give the illusion of baking bread by sprinkling a bit of vanilla on an oven rack and turning it onto warm.


My grandmother was the baker in my family. Mom couldn't be arsed for love or money.


Have we started imbibing yet??? ;)

The housemate put on a pot of coffee, and I texted out a dinner invite.


I may perk up and make it to 10PM . . . .

It was disappointing. Too dry. The crumb was too large. Too much garlic in the sauce. The cheese wasn't right...

Back to the drawing board.
 
So maybe start out and keep it simple.


I made fried egg sammiches. I like my fried egg sammiches, so it wasn't a hardship.


And there's chocolate ice cream for dessert.
 
I spent 6 hours on that Za. An egg sandwich takes 5 minutes. But, this vintage Wisconsin beer isn't bad.
