Hi folks,

I came across a song called Morning Glory by Eric Sardinas. Now that title has a specific meaning in the UK and I didn't know if it was also an American expression. I asked my American wife but she wasn't familiar with the term.

So... WITHOUT GOOGLING (or similar) what does the term Morning Glory mean to Americans (if anything.) Is this term used in the states too?

Cheers in advance MJR

A morning glory is a kind of flower that closes its petals at night and opens them early in the morning. I've never heard the term used to mean anything else.

I used it to describe my morning shit while administering instructions to Privates after I made it into the E4 Mafia, continued it's usage through rest of military career.

It's a flower... but the term is used to describe a nice hard cock when waking in the morning.

Now, if you were to ask us about "glory hole," that does have a slang meaning here.

Commonly used in America?

Well, I don't normally have these conversations with more than 50% of the population... but, where I come from (the southern states) it's popular vernacular for waking up with a hard on.

Start a poll! ;)

What do you call your hard on in the morning?
;)

Thanks, that's what I wanted to know.

Means the same thing here.

Maybe that is what Mr Sardinas is singing about :)

That's a 'Daily Constitutional', but I have no idea where the phrase initiated.

The morning glory flower allegedly has some drug like feelings when it's ingested. Or that's what they told me 20 years ago in college. I preferred magic mushrooms

No doubt due to the scope of such scholarly investigation thus completed, The Washington fake news Post will be reporting tomorrow what "Morning Glory" means to Americans.

Such lazy, quick, and totally irresponsible acceptance of generalization does nothing but further actual ignorance. Why, it's like reporting what women march about in regards to an election...

...without at least equal reference to the fact that at least as many, if, in fact, not a majority, of women who voted don't agree with those other women much at all.

We print only the news that's fake to print!

Such a predilection for nonsequiturs may be indicative of actual mental illness. Seek help.

Of course, I am a female! 😂😂😂

I believe you -- but, if you've been on this forum for any length of time, you'll know that many Litsters who claim to be female, or have apparently-female usernames, aren't. It is not something one can simply safely assume.
