Author Dashboard Problems?

Is anyone else having problems logging in to their author dashboards? The site accepts my login and password, but when I click on the link to get to my profile I get a completely blank page. I've tried with an alternate handle and gotten the same results.

On a probably unrelated note: the forum says I have a Private Message waiting for me in that little field on the upper right hand corner and I allegedly have something in my inbox...except when I hit the drop-down to go to my inbox, it says I have zero messages. Anyone else ever encounter that before?

Yes to the first. No to the second. :)

Yes. It is a sign that you were sent a spam Private Message that someone else has reported as spam. It will have been deleted from ALL the recipients including you. The number will reset back to zero in about 24 hours - unless you get ANOTHER spam message...

I've tested in four browsers on two platforms, with three different pen names, logged out and back in. No issues anywhere.

I've tested in three browsers on two platforms. I think I got the blank page the first time I accessed the Works page with firefox on Linux, but I reloaded the page and it came up fine. The problem has not repeated.

I'm still getting a totally blank page

and have been all day! It's aggravating because I have a new story running today.

You have to be able to get into the new screen before getting into the old one.

I can't get into anything. When I click on the front page to access my stuff I get a white, blank page, as if everything has been wiped clean. My stories, comments, favorites, everything is gone. There is no page from which I can go to the old system.

At first I thought it was just them working on the system but no one else seems to be having the same issue. I just wrote Laurel and made her aware. Hopefully they'll be able to do something.

When I click on my moniker on Lit's front page, this is what I get.

Here is what I see instead of my stories.

Hmmm...I just opened Chrome and logged it in and bam I was on the new dashboard page...no problem.

My Palemoon browser goes there too...well actually it goes to the old one which was the last one I went to.

I haven't tried any other browsers, so nothing to report on them.

Clear you cache in Chrome. Then clear cookies for lit. Then try it.

I'm having the same issue.

I just got back into the old one by using the link attached to my Discussion board profile but the new beta one still comes up blank.

Okay, people having issues:

What platform ( Windows 7/Windows 10/Linux/Android) and browser ( Chrome/Firefox ) are you using? If there's commonality, that could help track down why a few are having issues and most aren't.

Also, have you tried a different browser? That could be an immediate solution to the problem while they try to figure out what's going on with your preferred browser.

I just tried to get to my control panel and just got a blank page. I did what Zeb_Carter suggested clear cache and clear cookies and it works now. Thanks Zeb_Carter :)

I tried all the suggestions but nothing seems to work...

Hopefully Laurel will be able to get someone on it and fix it from their end.

About the private message: thanks for the input!

On the author dashboard issue: Usually I use Chrome, and that's where I'm having the problem. I tried it out on Firefox and it worked fine.

You might try purging cooking and dumping the cache. Chrome seems to be especially vulnerable to issues like that ( as well as random memory leaks that will damn near shut your system down )

Same issue. I'm using Chrome 55 and Linux. The fix was to clear browsing data (3 dots-> settings->advanced settings->privacy:clear browsing data), aka, zap your cookies.

Chrome is my go-to browser when I want speed and stability. If Lit's not rendering right in Chrome, it's Lit's problem by definition. Other sites render just fine.

Chrome used to by my go to, until it developed a cold, then it did stuff that it shouldn't. Uninstalled it, then clear all mention of it in the registry and on my disc drives. Reinstalled and it was fine...for awhile. Three times I did that.

Now, I use Pale Moon 64k. It's fast, well as fast as my internet speed will let it be. It get data in big 64k chucks, etc., etc. And it hasn't caught a cold. I does things, once you add a couple of extensions, that Chrome can only dream of.
