Ooh!

I saved this one til last because I was so excited that it's the year of the cock!!!

I'm definitely going to make the most of it, then... ;)

(By the way, I see you are located in Canada. I'm heading your way to ski in a few weeks. Really looking forward to it)

We get a year dedicated to us. Yes.:)

just lil ole me saying hello and wishing you a super stupendous wednesday! :)

Hello, lil ole you!

My Wednesday was fine, thank you. I wouldn't say super stupendous, but I didn't need it to be, sometimes fine is, well, fine!

How was yours?

The weather has been pretty flaky, but there's always snow in the mountains. I hope you will write stories about the warm cozy fire in the chalet or about encounters with ski instructors.

Snow! Hurrah! There's a fire, yes, although not a log fire, I think. And it's more of a swish glassy apartment than a cabin, but it looks nice in the photos. There's a glass-topped dining table. I haven't been thinking about what might happen on that table at all, nope, not even once. Or under it...

I'll let you know afterwards... ;)

Is that the queen's English, Cockney, ?

Cockney? How very dare you! I'm from much further up north, although my accent has been much diluted by having lived down south(-west) for a few years, and then in a much different part of the north than my birthplace. So, yeah, if you're going for accuracy, north.... :D

Wow - I'm jealous of your ski trip. Where will you be, Quebec, Rockies or Coastal Mountains?

The year of the cock, yep, starts in just two days, I believe.

I looked up some of the others coming up.

2018: Dog. Sex only doggy-style all year.

2022: Rabbit. Compulsory use of a rabbit vibrator in every session. Yay!

2025: (Trouser-)snake *giggles*

2026: Horse (hung like a...). There's a little tiny horse I cycle past sometimes. If it's not raining, he quite often, er, 'airs his equipment', shall we say. Bloody hell fire. It's like my forearm! And he's only a very small horse...

Anyway. Those are the ones which caught my eye... :D

Um... Bugger, I'm rubbish at geography.

Whistler, British Columbia. Or BC, as I'd say, if that didn't mean something (someone!) else to me these days! Been before actually, but it was a long time ago. And I'm lucky enough to be less impoverished this time, so can do it in a bit more style, hence the swish glassy apartment

They've had over six metres of snow in the season so far, I'm told. I'm very excited (and not just about the glass-topped dining table... ;)).

Ah, that's Coastal. I've been to Whistler too, but it was summer time for hiking. Rented one of those ski chalets. It was nice, I wish I had reason to remember the table

We have resolved to go to other parts of Canada in summer at some stage too, I'd love to do that.

Trouble is, it's massively long haul from here, the flight is ten hours, I think, and there's eight hours' time difference... So it might be a while before I can steel myself to sit on a plane for that long again!

That is a long trip . . . Though, I just did a 2500 mile auto trip with my daughter last weekend, to help her move. That was about 36 hours of sitting!

Here's a little Whistler peep for you ;)

I do like cricket, yes. I find football just too macho, the vast majority of the players have little or no education (because they are whisked off at a stupidly young age to concentrate on football), and the crowds are overwhelmingly male, extraordinarily aggressive and have to be separated on tribal grounds to stop them killing each other.

OK, I may be exaggerating just a tad, but from my admittedly limited experience, I didn't find it a nice environment for a woman, a football crowd...

And I'm not saying that there's never any trouble at cricket matches, but it's never violent, the supporters of the opposing teams are all mixed up, there's a lot of good-natured bantering but nothing unpleasant, I'd actually feel perfectly comfortable there on my own and many women do. The laws are complex, yes, but there's lots of strategy, and it's a lovely way to spend a summer's day.

The likeliest trouble is someone streaking onto the pitch and have to be caught and ejected... ;) :D

Do you prefer a certain type of match? Do you like the multi-day test matches? Or are you more of a fan of the shortened version? :)

Sounds like you speak from experience? Have you ever streaked onto the field? ;)

2500 miles! Wow. I'm sure your daughter appreciated your help, massive Dad points to you...

I've calculated your average rolling speed at nearly 70mph  That's a German autobahn-worthy average speed :D

I love a road trip. We drive to the Alps most winters, (not this year ;)), and I love the journey. A few stops on the way, nice hotels, French food, increasingly alpine scenery... I'm actually going to quite miss it this year, although there will be compensations

And we will drive to France in the summer. Looking forward to that too.

I like the Tests, yes. Very absorbing. Usually go with friends, it's a grand day out. I like the one day matches too, it's nice to get a result in a day, and it's a different style of cricket, different tactics, sometimes different players.

I've never streaked, no! It's much frowned on these days. The streakers are fined around a thousand quid, and ejected from the ground, so I wouldn't get to see the rest of the day's play... :(

I've seen a couple though. There was one at my first actual ever Test Match. I seem to recall standing rather tipsily and applauding. It was a male streaker. My (exclusively male) companions remained in their seats. Grinning... :D

I think I could come up with enough to cover the fine...money well spent ;)

Had it been you I am sure you would have gotten a universal standing ovation. :D

Hehe. You're a gentleman! Will you come and find me outside the stadium after they throw me out wearing only a steward's dayglo tabard? :D

I've only ever seen male streakers. Although I think the first one on TV was a lady. Erica Roe. At the rugby. :D I bet she's on YouTube somewhere.
