I think it is important to have laws controlling immigration. I think our current laws need to be changed and the process streamlined. That alone would help curtail illegal immigration.
There's a lot of hysteria about trump's plans and the way they are reported. "Trump plan's to curtail immigration". That may be true to some extent, but enforcing current immigration laws is not "curtailing" immigration.
Our inability to work together for meaningful change is upsetting. Ignoring laws we don't like. Sanctuary Cities. Executive Action. This is not the way America is supposed to function.
People are upset about "building a wall". Don't you think our borders need to be secured in some way? Whether it is by patrols, electronics, aerial surveillance, they are all ways of preventing people from entering our country without going through the proper channels. If you agree the border needs to be secured, what difference does it make how it's secured? And if you do not think the border needs to be secured, what are the ramifications of that position?
