Even into the 90s, the phrase "Film at Eleven" was fairly common in newscasts. Digital video from every smartphone within five hundred yards was unheard of. What digital video that was available was 640x480 resolution and nearly useless for broadcast.

Big city TV stations had microwave links to news choppers -- so they could cover things like the "Slow-speed chase of OJ Simpson," but cities of less than a quarter million or so wouldn't have even that much "instant news." They would have to wait for a courier to physically bring videotape of remote coverage to the studios and/or wait for station lawyers to negotiate a price for "eyewitness" video.

In the 90s satelites were pretty standard, dingbat.

But, the authorities and the press have done a lot of "admitting" that this or that shooting was done by terrorists. I know of no instance where it might have been but they told us otherwise, and in light of the foregoing I can't imagine why they wouldn't. Heck, the W Admin would have been downright eager to blame a shooting on terrorism even when it wasn't.

Phased out because of labor costs and insufficient market demand, I suppose -- some time after the gas stations started offering self-service as an option, they must have noticed practically everybody was choosing it.

Yeah. I don't really find this to be a reputable source. I was also looking for statistics, not a list of names and a sentence saying that they were on SSRI meds.

Please don't get me wrong, I'm not disagreeing with you. I don't have the facts to do that. I'm looking for a real in depth analysis by researchers.

There's an increasing epidemic of youth suicides in Australia and Nz, and they're trying to look at what changed in the fabric of society

Well, as for Litsters, we all do a mass shooting every now and then, of course. What else would you expect? But what I'm trying to figure out here is the general population.

For 23 years we lived 130+ miles from Tampex and Orlando, Fl. Moved back to midwest to get away from drugs and shootings.
Found out Peoria and Shitcago, Ill are among the worst cities to be near.
Unlike hunting in the Florida preserves those cities have no official hunting regulations.

I suspect that any correlation must be coincidental. Probably 1/3rd of americans are on an antidepressant, so it's likely that you might find them among mass shooters too.
