Ann, I found your question provocative.

As a Christian, my reaction is of course you forgive. But there are people here who have just so stupidly, with no attempt to explain or justify their claims, called me "idiot" and worse. As I see it, those people do not try to inform so much as to disparage and wound. They don't bother me particularly, but you cannot really ignore calumnies directed at you. I handle it by trying to avoid them while trying not to allow them to run me out of town. I don't bear them any animus, but unless they apologized, I consider them rather inadequate people and would prefer not to interact with them in any way.

It's tempting to dismiss the whole matter as simply standard Internet protocol on a sexually themed site. However, I also realize how hurtful those people could be to others of a perhaps less robust emotional state than I currently enjoy. So I don't want to harbor anger toward people (as opposed to being angry about actions), but I also don't want their deeds ignored, and if I saw them attacking someone else, I would try to protect those whom they attack.
 
A couple of days ago I was swapping views with Private Mushroom (aka Sgt. Spider Man) when he pulled a totally chicken shit move. Truly, totally, 100 percent chicken shit.
I called him a gutless wonder. It was well deserved, but another Lit wizard suggested he was a mushroom. So I lowered him in rank to Private Mushroom.
So, yeah, he was a total chicken shit and a gutless wonder, but it's Christmas.

I take them off my ignore list New Years Eve ,Trouble is most of them are back on it by the end of January .
 
I clear my iggy list every year on Dec 31. Then by the end of Jan, almost all the same names are back on.

Really tho, the snark and nastiness of some posters here generally just washes right over me these days.
Age, wisdom, and all that crap ;)
