The Trump "mandate."

The truth is he has a mandate pretty much everywhere but California by zipperhead's metric...

And we all know that outside of a few tech enclaves, California is running its economy into the ground, shedding workers and watching capital flee to places like Texas.

A rising tide lifts all boats. Reaganomics. Scary, huh. :)

Spidey would complain if every employee and small business owner in America doubled their annual income, if the rich got 51.2% richer in the process.

Winning by 80K votes across 3 states is a mandate?

Conversely, if Trump only has 4 years to Obama's 8, does Obama have the bigger mandate?

I know that sounds a tad dirty. That's my mandate.

Shuttering some California defense contractor plants would toss their real estate market back into a tailspin.

While picking up seats and governorships? Yes.

Combine that with the will of voters expressed the last 3 election cycles, and definately. Voters put Trump at the wheel, with no Democrats anywhere near the brakes. Keep your arms and legs inside the ride at all times.

Obama had a similar mandate. He chose to spend that on the ACA.

Come on people. Don't ya know "words have meaning"

Mandate: the authority to carry out a policy or course of action, regarded as given by the electorate to a candidate or party that is victorious in an election.

Now exactly how does he not have a mandate?

It's kind of the same way luk has a mandate to follow ish around like a crack whore looking for dick....

Well...I didn't vote for "luk"...:)

The fact that she's not there probably explains her last vestige of popularity...

;) ;)

Hillary gets the part that money is important, money lets you buy talent and endorsements and lock down ad time, but she's tone deaf about the essentials. Bill tried to set her straight and she wouldn't use his good counsel. She's the smartest person in California.

The first Nazi meeting Hitler attended had 7 people and $1.75 in its treasury. He left the meeting their president.

Then how is it that the inroads made by the Republican Party across this nation's legislative bodies amounted to only an 80K delta between Trump's win and Clinton? Seems more a case of the base not motivated for the top of the ticket than they were downticket.

Hardly the stuff of a mandate.

And make no mistake, he does have a mandate. Just winning an election is a mandate.

He won the Electoral vote, and that worked exactly as the founders designed it to. (As an aside, over twice as many Hillary electors turned out to be 'faithless' as Trump electors. Apparently that entire effort wasn't well thought out.)

Yeah, yeah, now comes the nattering nabobs yapping about the popular vote.

Here's what one natterer said about Obama on November 5, 2008:

There's no doubt that he won an electoral mandate. Going by the popular vote, not so.

So 30 out of 50 states isn't a mandate?

You know, if mandate had anything to do with by how much you won....

I acknowledge a mandate for the Republican party, and acknowledge that that mandate didn't extend to Trump's win by virtue of only an 80,000 vote win across three states.

I hope this makes the disconnect in the Republican voter's advocacy clearer for you to understand.

Here's what one natterer said about Obama on November 5, 2008:

So he said:
Obama won a electoral mandate
Obama did not win a popular vote mandate
Trump won a electoral mandate

So which one of those statements do you disagree with?

Oh never mind. I don't care. You are a moron.

His man date is his bromance, Vladimir Putin. ;)

As for things he campaigned on with consistent emphasis and enthusiastic support it would clearly include-

BUILD THE WALL

LOCK HER UP

I think he has waffled on these already, dropping the lock her up in his victory speech, and the "Mexico will pay for it" part went away about the same time.

INFRASTRUCTUE SPENDING was another one. It's the one I truly believe will come to pass, because pork barrel spending is truly bi-partisan.

He promised countless times that "It'll be AMAZING!" I didn't believe him during the campaign, but I freely admit that I am constantly amazed.

LMAO! No he doesn't have a mandate.

You can't lose the popular vote and claim you have a mandate. It just doesn't work like that no matter how much you may want it to.

But watching you crave that legitimacy is fun. :D

Oh look another one in total denial of reality.

How's that arbitrary popular vote standard you pulled out of your ass working for Clinton???

LOL

Mandate, kicked ass, massive landslide....

None of those labels change the fact that Trump got the 11th lowest percentage of electoral votes in the history of the electoral college.

Mandate? Yes. 77,744 votes spread over three states ensured his electoral victory, so he gets to sit in the Oval Office, which comes with automatic mandate. Same as if Trump and Pence croaks, and Paul Ryan who nobody voted for gets the job. Then he has that mandate.

Political capital? Historically weak.

I know that sounds a tad dirty. That's my mandate.

On Day One Trump wipes out about 90% of what Obama did with executive orders.

Its gonna be a bad time for all you stupid people.

But elections have consequences.

Just sit there in Norwegistan and watch it all happen.
