when does he do the PERP walk????????????????

it is coming

eventually!

Now, the talk is that Bush should leave immediately and allow Obama to take over early to begin the healing.

I agree. Let's get started now in time to raise taxes for the 2009 Calyear.

We could also get all the new federal judges in by Jan 1 and be rid of those Bush radicals in the federal system.

I'm willing to sit back and watch. He has two tests coming right up front.

The first is is he going to be willing to stomp on a democrat house that is going to go hog wild? This was one of Bushs big mistakes, the unwillingness to reel in the excesses of his own party.

The second is going to be foriegn in nature. Biden was absolutely right, Obama is going to be seen by the strays in the neighborhood as prime meat, hung low, and unattended.

The word you are actually looking for is "mandate".

The test is what he believes his mandate to be: Rampant Liberalism, or simple change.

I think we'll get the first.

I agree with all this

You may not have heard this yet

On JIHADI internet postings, Al Q has VOWED to open a third front in the war

1- Iraq, as soon as the US pulls back, they vow to come back

2- Afghanistan and Pakistan

and now

3- The Horn of Africa.

The war spreads.

What will be the BAM response? if its................."Terrorism comes from poverty" or some such,

We have a problem

There's no doubt that he won an electoral mandate. Going by the popular vote, not so.

If he, and congress, go hog wild he's probably going to be a one termer. Jimmy writ large.

Watch the market today.

I disagree

He won a mandate by the EC and the Pop Vote you cant deny that!

The mkt may be down, but only cause its had a huge run up, and now the focus will be back on the economy

On a side note, in 1984, when RR won 49!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! States, the WAPO headline was

Reagan sweeps

(subheadline was)

NO MANDATE SEEN:rolleyes:

OH! I hope to Gawd he exercises mandate!

If he doesn't lead, Nancy will, either way, we get to see how deep the hole goes...

You can disagree if you want. I don't see 6 pts as a popular mandate.

And when Clinton won in '92 with 43% of the popular vote, they claimed a 'mandate.' I guess you can 'claim' anything.

Obama wins-very short comment

It is going to be quite amusing to observe Americans pretend that President Barack Hussein Obama is not Muslim, a Christian, or in any case one of "them", while Muslims around the world rejoice that one of theirs is now president of the United States.

On those vote totals again. At the moment, Obama has 62.4 million votes, while McCain has 55.4 million. In 2004, Bush won 62 million votes, and Kerry 59 million.

BAM didnt do nearly as well as we had believed he would

and McCain wasnt liked by HIS party.

I can't wait to do my patriotic duty and pay more taxes.....yippee

Don't worry, guys. Bush still has two months to get us into a war in Iran.

Watch the market today.

There are as many reasons as stars in the skies BB. But I warned of this two weeks ago as a signal of market confidence in Obama.

The promised tax increases is certainly a part of it, but I suspect that another part of it is the way the democrats are hinting at taking a run at the 401K's. Either through taxation or via out and out federalization by taking over all the 401's and putting them in 'T-bills' paying 3% interest augmenting the holders SS accounts. The congress gets to take all of the 401 monies out of the market and spend it today, giving the 'lender' (the holder of the 401), a long term IOU backed by future tax monies. The market will come back, but if either of those plans are inacted the 401 monies never will.

down another 430 as of now

two day loss of about 900 points

at this rate

in weeks, we may have a recount:D

jk, the bottom is close at hand

Obama has promised tax cuts. That should stimulate the economy, no? The problem is he will let Bush's tax cuts expire. That will affect everyone. In general taxes are going to go up - way up. The voters may not have been able to figure that out but Wall Street can.

I'm willing to wait and see what he does but with the top five positions in the country filled by those who are, arguably, the top five left wing radicals -- well, you do the math.

Note - his first official appointment (Chief of Staff) is another radical.
