Bernie Sanders: Where We Go From Here

It is strange when Rolling Stone scoops the WSJ, NY TImes and WaPo. The LSM is avoiding real journalism for click bait. Because they want to make money not inform the people of reality about how fucked they are by Rethuglicans and Democraps that cater to the Donor Class.

RS-"In a weird way, does the collapse of belief in traditional legacy media, and the absolute rage a lot of people feel toward us reporters, maybe facilitate change, since people are more open to alternative ideas?"

Bernie-"The corporate media, if you read the last chapter of the book, they don't see it as their job to educate the American people. I just came from the Christian Science Monitor Breakfast, and more than one question – they're literally worried today, before Trump is even inaugurated, who is going to be running in 2020. Literally!

Because those are easy things. It's a little bit harder to write about why the middle class is collapsing, the threat that climate change poses for the planet, and all the other important issues. They're not going to do it. It's not their job. CNN had a great campaign, right?"

It is not the job of newspapers to 'educate' it's readers. Their job is to sell newspapers. Correctly 'informing' readers is just a hopeful by-product. Political bias has been a part of newspapers since the times of pamphlets and primitive broadsheets off the first printing presses.

That sure ain't what they taught me in journalism school.

But, then, I was training to be a reporter, not an executive.

Reporters don't eat if an executive doesn't source funding for them. ;)

That other thread with the two versions of the WSJ illustrate my point.

A journalist can be likened to a production floor worker. High quality work is expected. High level decisions are not.

You are all missing the point that the "Fourth Estate" and freedom of the Press was not given as an economic boon to advertising but was earned by journalists making a contribution to society by holding Government, and others accountable.

The Mainstream media seems to have forgotten that role and sunk to where the NYT, WSJ, and WaPo are very little better than the National Enquirer. CNN and MSNBC seem to have lost all touch with reality of Journalism.

Rolling Stone isn't far behind.. Or did you forget that false piece where they lambasted an entire college based on the story of a false gang rape?

Selling out for a $600,000 house with a private beach I think is where he went...Funny he doesn't make enough to afford a third property.

That wasn't Matt Taibbi, so I probably didn't read it or pay much attention.

Doesn't matter if it was Matt Taibbi or not. RS's editorial board decided to publish that story without confirming the validity of the story or the source... That doesn't reflect well on the editorial board does it..

No, but lots of Media have fucked up, that doesn't mean that they all are fucked up all the time. Except Fox of course.:D

You never went to college, you went to a tard training center and learned to collect old soda cans, and wipe your ass.

I guess no one read the article in the OP?

47% of Americans couldn't be bother to vote.

The Pentagon wastes 125 billion dollars in ineptness and then hides the report from Congress.

Not only are we going to hell in a hand basket, but Trump is using it for his deplorables too!
