Well done.

Any quibbles I have re: characterization or dialogue are usually nullified when Thandie Newton, Ed Harris, or Anthony Hopkins show up on-screen. Fun series.

I crushed on Thandie back in the day and Westworld did nothing but rekindle that flame.

Bernard! <--- text from Ferm when Hannibal mind fucked him.

I'm a few shows behind because of other bingewatch distractions. Gotta catch up.

I was telling everyone at the office to peep this show last month and now my co-worker is ahead of me! :D

Loved Yul Brenner in it. Maybe Hollywood can finally get around to remaking those Paulie Shore movies.

Thandie in MI: 2. Movie: eh. Her: wow.

My mom likes sci-fi and westerns.

Felt a pang of guilt when I told her about the series. She's not leaving the house anymore.

I actually liked Sci-Fi's Humans show better.

Westworld just feels unoriginal to me, but I guess maybe it feels that way since it is a remake. There's some plot holes, VR would solve a lot of problems the WW world is dealing with.

Anyways, the trans-humanist movement is starting to get in the spotlight.
I AM.

You live with your mom? :D

Since Zumi isn't caught up yet I won't get into too much detail but I think I did stare at last my television for a good five minutes after last week's episode thinking, what the fuck was that?

I'm hoping more happens with Evan Rachel Wood's character. I feel like she has kind of fizzled. I had high hopes in the beginning. I thought I saw some real rage potential.

And still....Bernard!!!!

Today I found out that Westworld was a sort of cheesy 1973 sci fi movie.

They shoulda done it in 70's retro style instead.

Nah. It would make a remake pointless. When you do remakes of sci-fi classics, there's no point and little value in being regressive with tech unless actually being in the 1970s itself is crucial to the story. The upcoming Logan's Run remake won't be done in retro '70s style as the original movie was because it's meant to be a dystopia set in the future.

Original movies and shows not based on past versions are different - the series Stranger Things for example, is set in the early 80s and it works because it's meant to be like that, in that particular era. The J.J. Abrams throwback joint Super 8 is the same way.

Meh. Without all the T&A the ratings would be terrible and this show would be cancelled by now. Very poor plot development, complete lack of character insight, and a slow moving timeline that so far jumps around uncontrollably. Also has some glaring plot holes, which may or may not be closed in later episodes. Overall it seems as if it was rushed into production without much thought.

Yeah, I dunno what it is... WW is just boring to me. I guess watching robots realize they aren't human gets old after a while?

Now, Netflix's 3% kept my attention. It's the Portuguese version of Hunger Games!

Starting to get in spotlight? I would go back to 1999 or so for this movement. It is no coincidence that the Matrix Brothers now are so call sisters. They are the first to make Trans humanism go mainstream.

What the hell is the....

never mind, I'm just going to enjoy this pist as-is.

It's not a remake.

A movie version might qualify as a remake. This is a series.

My main memory of the movie is that the TV commercials for it were omnipresent in 1973.

But I'd rather see a remake of something cheesy (think about the second Battlestar Galactica) then of something that was already so good there was no point in remaking it. Michael Crichton was probably thinking the same thing when he returned to the theme of having the attractions in a park go on a rampage, except the second time he tried it with dinosaurs.

The show is holding my attention, but Jesus is it confusing. And how many people can they kill/disappear before the rest of the actual humans on staff begin asking questions/looking for alternate employment?

I've seen a porno version called Sexworld, where the guests really get what they want. :)

I knew they were transhumanist, but I had no idea they were trans-gender, too.
They are soo next level! Trans-trannies!

I didn't even realize there was going to be a Logan's Run remake. My hippie parents let my sister and I watch it when we were younger and we loved it (not picking up on any of the sexual references). It will be interesting to see the remake.

Starting to feel like Roman World is eventually gonna happen in this series.

Practically every sci-fi or horror movie from the 70s had a major cheesy factor, seen from over 30 years in the future. Hell, look at disco! How cheesier can you get than disco music and fashion. TV and Hollywood spent most of the 20th century learning how to act and speak in front of a camera.

don't hold your breath. they've been talking about remaking it for as long as i can remember and the imdb page lists it as nothing more than a script.

also, it ever is made it will most likely suck.

and there will be no jenny agutter swimming naked in a g rated movie and that's just a shame.
