We got together recently and discussed having y'all over for Thanksgiving. It simply wouldn't be right if we didn't have our friends over for the holiday.

So, I sat down and made an invitation to send to all of you, and I hope you can make it!

Edited: removed because of a copywrite! :rose:

Now, to fill in all the details!

Stop by November 24th! It's an all day get together, of course... and you can stay the weekend if you'd like. There's plenty of room, but you might want to bring a blanket.

The Playground is big enough to put up tables with plenty of room to mingle and visit old friends, and get to know some new ones. Just RSVP below, and on Thursday, show up with a smile and a side dish!

FitDaddy and I are providing the turkey and the fresh cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, and gravy! Hope you join us!

Oh! Thanks for reminding me! I need to run to the store to get one fresh tomorrow, and pick up some more sweet potatoes.

I couldn't wait until Thanksgiving and used them to make a pie on Saturday.

Sweet potato pie...must be those Southern roots coming out...:);)

Oh, yes!

In the last few years, I've started making Sweet Potato Casserole as a side... but it is much more like a dessert!

What other special things do you have on the table?

Gosh...I have never had sweet potato pie...sounds good...

My grandma used to always make cherry pineapple pie on Thanksgiving...Sounds strange but SO delicious...

Greens, green beans, lima beans, rice and gravy, dressing, various cakes and pies

You eat ham at Thanksgiving?...never heard of that on Turkey day:rose:

Freshly baked ham on TGD is amazing. But a rehydrated and properly prepared smoked Country ham is like a little bit of Heaven though. I've seen hem prepared many different ways and all were good.

Sweet potato pie is ever so much better then pumpkin pie (which by the way isn't really made from canned pumpkins....they're a different form of yam...)

BFG's sweet potato pie is to die for!!

Yup...generally have regular smoked ham and honey baked ham in addition to turkey and possibly chicken.

I am a big fan of ham on thanksgiving. I like all types of ham, but the last few years we have had smokes country ham and it is outrageously good. Some turkey and ham with gravy and cranberries... Omg!!

Your place is lovely! Shall I bring the green bean casserole and pecan pie?

My family started a tradition because my mom always worked the day after Thanksgiving (hairdresser). And my dad isn't a huge fan of turkey.

So we would have all the regular sides you have at Thanksgiving but we'd have King Crab legs instead. Just a huge pot of water, put them in and we were eating.

Planning on doing both a turkey and crab legs this year :)
