Simple, basic fact.

Clinton got more votes than Trump. Literally nobody can refute this and maintain credibility.

So? More Americans would have preferred Barry Goldwater over Lyndon Johnston. Goldwater would have been a much better president.

If their election results had gone the other way and Hillary was in and Trump supporters were pointing out that he had more voters you would be saying "Well, yes but Hillary was concentrating her get-out-the-vote game in the states that matter."

Our presidents are not elected at-large. They are elected by electors who are sent to the Electoral College by their respective States in proportionality to the populations thereof.

The defeat of liberalism would be 100% complete right now if as per originalist intent senators were still elected by the respective state legislators. Those State houses are currently 2/3 controlled by Republicans.

Here we go...the illegitimate President shtick is right around the corner.

Who

60 fucking votes. Suck it.

For those too stupid to understand, go take a civics class.

Not too stupid to understand it, just a bit frustrating that we in many states get screwed.

Also the number is not exactly proportional to population as each state gets 2 at the start and then the rest is based on population so the minimum is 3.

Vermont has 626,562 people and 3 electoral votes. 1 vote per 208,000 people.

Minnesota has 5,470,000 people and 10 electoral votes. 1 vote per 547,000 people.

California has 38,800,000 people and 55 electoral votes. 1 vote per 705,454 people.

Thanks to the Wyoming rule my vote is literally worth less than a third of what a person living in Vermonts. I happen to think that THAT is just rank horseshit.

The California secession moments blew up all over FB and other social media this morning.

Acting like Texas without quite as many independent resources LOL

Maybe we will leave the country and finally get to go full on Venezuelan socialist!!! WOOO!! yea!!! PROGRESS!!!

Fortunately our founding fathers were smart enough to give us not one, but two ways of changing our constitution. But it wont happen for this cause it benefits too many states that vote primarily a single party. Let it go....give a stupid person a rope and they always hang themselves. This was necessary if our country is to survive. Only way change will happen is by pain.

Assuming North Cali came with us we'd in all likelihood be better off that way to be perfectly honest.

Not that I'm saying we SHOULD.

This is the perfect proof declaring once again that America is intentionally not a democracy because it was purposely constituted a republic.

How the President is elected is dictated by the Constitution, which reigns supreme as the republican law of the land specifically intended to thwart the democratic whims of man.

If any mob/majority longs to legally alter that grand political wisdom, then it can only act through its republican representatives by amending the Constitution, rather than acting illegally through merely its democratic wishes.

If only much of America could revert back to understanding this glorious republican form of government concept, along with the individual liberty-design of empowering such a grand, omnipotent concept while strictly, constitutionally-limiting that omnipotence to only its actual federal realm, America would have an actual opportunity to begin loosening the grip of long festering, socialist government from around its neck.

My husband and I went fishing in the backwaters off Marco Island. We bet on who could be most successful.
He caught a 27" salt water catfish- quite a fight and a big fish.

I caught a 24" Grouper.

Who do you think won the bet?

Yes- we ate the Grouper.

Bye Hillary.
(Maybe Trump will cut you a deal- stay out of jail if you & Bill just fade away into retirement. You better take that offer.)

I dont get republicans. More worried about something not real than fixing the issues. Go ahead...waste more time.

Looks like Trump will wind up with at least 306 EC votes despite losing the popular vote. I'll bet he likes the college now. :D

Not that I'm saying we SHOULD.

If we had some time to get our infrastructure separated and un-cluster fucked it could be possible.

I don't think it would be better off, I think the elitist greedy brand of socialism would go to 11 and I would get fucked out of everything I own by the state.

This place would be Venezuela inside 5 years. There would be the ultra, super, mega rich in Malibu, Monterrey, Santa Cruz and Pacific Heights. And 35 million STARVING Californians.

The Electoral College could, in theory, fix this "disaster" thing for Trump and go with the direct majority vote. In theory.

This way Trump could get his wish.

It's true...good thing we dont' live in a democracy or we would have an even slimier president elect right now.

Smells like tears and preparation H up in this bitch......

LMFAO!!! My first platoon daddy used to say that shit all the time.

We have better resources than Venuezuala, which people forget fell because Obama decided to fuck them. Nobody survives in the Western Hemisphere with America actively fucking you.

We would probably notch up the socialism, but we also wouldn't be supporting all the red states so we'd have a lot more money.

Notching up the socialism cannot create an environment where you would have a lot more money. By definition Socialism kills individual incentive. Without individual incentive, production falls. Always. Not some of the time. Always. You can try to fix that with oversight and reeducation camps but then now you're spending time money and effort and personnel on guards, retraining, guns, prisons, and torture.

also, goldwater got his ass handed to him by johnson, so that example is pure nonsense.

I stand humbly corrected. I looked it up. Johnson won 60 percent of the popular vote to 38% for Goldwater. I knew he got killed in the Electoral College. I have no idea where I got the idea that he beat Johnson in the popular vote. It's one of those things that I've always "known," that apparently just isn't true.
