It is a peninsula, so I realize that it does have some torsional resistance where it attaches to the mainland, but aren't you more worried that it's going to flip over as that brave Democrat Congressman suggested might happen to Islands?

Follow up question: Don't the seas rise as opposed to islands and peninsulas sinking?

Further follow-up question: I seem to remember a moment something like eight years ago when somebody said that that was the moment that the seas would stop rising. Who was that again? What was it that he did about it again?

I think maybe your global warming religion should consider adding some sort of a deity figure that you could pray to to prevent these sort of cataclysmic events. All the cool faith-based belief systems are doing it.

There is nothing religious in climate change. God isn't raising the floodwaters "again", the evidence is clear and factual, and conclusions and predictions are all rational and based on scientific principles.

Maybe I should have spelled this out to you before the election.

Unfortunately Trump did win my home state, but not by much. Florida is deeply divided, her cities and college towns are blue, but the rest of the state is red.

I'm of a mind that everything north of Daytona Beach should be separated into its own state.

Surprising that those that benefit from government related jobs, benefits and programs would gravitate to the party of hand-outs.

Maybe the Democrats should have thought a little bit more carefully about the consequences to Florida to reinstituting the death tax in order to tax people after their death on money they already paid taxes on.

Exactly the crux of the argument. I say a dead guy has the right to direct his money to go to whomever he wishes. Without government interference since he lived and worked his whole life and paid taxes. Why should the government get to interfere with his estate?

Same problem I have with property taxes. You work, pay taxes and use your resources to buy something and you will never ever finish paying it off because the government owns a mortgage on your property; continually charging you for the right to live on your property...subject to the whims of the electorate, who, if you're unlucky, probably consist of more property-less owners than actual property owners.

Democracy at its finest. 5 wolves deciding it is acceptable to devour four lambs.

I don't understand why your ilk doesn't have the balls to simply vote to nationalize everything.

And if they thought about it more what exactly would be different? You're saying based on that issue alone the same people who voted in Rick Scott twice would have changed their vote for Clinton?

You can't know that. Maybe they have been reincarnated. Just as reasonable a belief structure as believing the temperature has risen even though the amount of the reported change is less than the reported margin of error. Kind of like the polls were.
