I'm pissed at myself today, I missed a step while carrying my 8 year olds doll stroller down stairs. She got scared and cried and my ankle is swollen to twice its previous size and looks like a giant cankle. So inconvenient and annoying to lose mobility.

The stupid girls started laying (yay) but refuse to use the nesting boxes and instead prefer to lay on the roost so the eggs fall and break. I made them new nesting boxes and placed a fake egg in them, showed them where they are and even placed them in them to give them the idea. Still finding broken roost eggs this morning. This whole keeping chickens thing has been a fucking nightmare from issues building the coop, to the fox that nabbed almost the entire first flock, to this.

Ok so... Chickens aren't so much stupid as slow... Was going to remove the roosts this weekend, but someone decided to use the box I provided. I got my first egg!
