The 2016 Presidential Election Results Thread

Moral midget Marco Rubio has been re-elected. You knew Florida would have to do at least one phenomenally stupid thing on Election Day.

Illinois at least has Chicago. Indiana has......nothing. Not even Indianapolis is really liberal or diverse.

Yeah but have you ever tried to drive in Chicago? *shudder*

Hillary ahead in Florida.

Tied back up again, dead heat.

I'm pretty dumb. I'm looking at this and thinking you magically created 10 more Senate seats than actually exist. And they aren't even ALL up for election this year. 66 of them are simply not up for re-election. They didn't run unopposed, they didn't run at all.

Oh fuck off, I hit 7 instead of 6 bouncing around 8 different tabs. And yeah it occurred after that only 34 senate seats were up for grabs this cycle.
So tell me then, how many of the 34 are running unopposed?

I think just the early vote.

Trump may still pull Florida out. He's doing even better in the JBJ parts of the state than Republicans usually do.

I may still win that $3 bet Trump wins Florida.

90% of Florida votes counted, Trump ahead by 29k votes :D

Holy shit...he might actually pull it off.

He could flip Florida, Ohio, and Iowa and it still won't be enough. And notice they still haven't called red Georgia, an hour and a half after the polls closed.

I was surprised in the days leading up to this that I started to experience genuine emotional distress. I don't mean it to be as histrionic as it sounds and I imagine there are a number of contributing factors, but this election has been long, weird, and upsetting. It is difficult to reconcile my belief that most people are generally good and want the best for each other with the knowledge that tens of millions of people are going to walk into a voting booth today and darken the circle next to Donald Trump's name (or not vote at all - lookin @ you brogressives) and feel they are making the right decision with all of their hearts, their brains similarly stumbling over the calculations about how anyone might feel otherwise.

Aware of this, I made a conscious decision to insulate myself in from breathless media coverage and incessant media chatter because knowing the most or knowing first isn't going to change anything at the end of the day. I made an attempt to keep my day busy and spent downtime deliberately with beautiful music in the background. I refused to lose a day to the madness.

That said. It's 8:30pm. I (mostly) lasted all day, and I'm drinking now. Time to watch this baby go down in flames and hope I don't hate myself (or everyone else) in the morning.

Now, if Trump manages to win Virginia, which somehow the Clinton people forgot to make sure they put away, his chances go up dramatically.

GA & NC had a last minute judicial ruling to keep the polls open an extra 90mins.

The wealthy PA suburbs that opened 3 hours late to make sure to miss the morning commuter rush hour don't get the same consideration.

The sad part is the rigging in NC seem to have made a difference.

You've got who's been doing the rigging in NC completely backwards.

I would've preferred President Ross Perot in 1992...but who would've guessed a year ago that the first successful anti-establishment run for POTUS would be...Donald Trump, lol still makes me giggle.

Not mentioned anywhere so far tonight: Jill Stein is on the ballot in Florida, but not in North Carolina. Could make the difference.

The fun thing is that he's running well ahead of Trump there, with the irony being that running behind Trump in Florida was what knocked Rubio out of the primary phase.

Trump closes the gap to less than 1% in NC & OH, and has it all but locked up in FL...HOLY SHIT!

Holy crap, that avatar.

I need bleach for my eyes.

If Trump wins, that avatar is gonna be Porkwarrior's next one getting off of his bike in sweet heavenly flaccid joy. :D
