Slave Collars

Are slaves required to wear a collar 24/7 even when not playing?

This is a bit of an impossible question. It's like asking.. Are wives required to cook dinner? Well, some are and some aren't. How is it decided? On a personal level in each individual relationship. The same can be said for collars. Traditionally, slaves bear some sort of characteristic identification marking them as slaves. That identification could be in the form of clothing, collars, jewellery, hair style, brand, etc etc etc.

If you are considering becoming a slave, you still have the right to negotiate anything that would make you comfortable. More pointedly, you can by negotiation refuse anything you don't want to do, wear, be subjected to, etc. If your prospective master doesn't agree to your terms then don't enter into the agreement. Opt for a less restrictive D/s situation, or move along and find a master that you are comfortable with.

And ask more questions here if you still need clarification. Best of luck as you figure this out, don't settle :)

That is the best answer I have gotten to date...Thank you that cleared up my thoughts about this subject.

You have the right to not be a slave.

A slave negotiating the terms of slavery is merely a mislabeled sub.

Slavery itself is merely the expansion of property rights to include humans so that they may be traded as a commodity.
Does not necessarily involve the extreme depravity that slavers engaged in during the transatlantic slave trade, nor the abolition of a slaves human rights nor their negotiation power.

I guess I wont want to , that will leave a mark around ones neck, I'd wear in the comfort of the house or at play and all.

If someone here should ever ask for an encyclopedia definition of slavery, I'm sure your contribution will be helpful.

It depends

As always.

There are collared Dom/sub arrangements that extend to 24/7 and some that are less extreme, even the occasional switch. As some of my friends here have said, it is up to the two of you (or three or four, lol) to work things out. The collar spends on the arrangement.

I think the answer to any question on this board is communication. Ask your dominant questions. Make sure they know about what you are hesitant about.

I have a necklace that is my "away collar" which I wear for work or when my normal collar is not appropriate.

Appropriately politically correct Ownership symbol .....

Some sort of appropriate markin' 24/7 arrangement could be a Tattoo on a hidden part of the body like on the bottom cheek/s say " her Master's Slut " or " his Mistress's Property " ! Instead of a Publicly inappropriate collar .....

Like stated before, it's a case by case basis. My girl and I chose for her to wear hers 24/7. However, it did take awhile to find one that met with all our requirements, able to sleep in, shower, only I was able to remove, etc. Plus she wanted to wear it in public without drawing undue attention (what we do in our lives is our business). We ended up going with a Ring of Steel collar. The price was great considering the workmanship that Vad put into collar. Feel free to PM me for the website if interested.

My slaves have a House collar, which is what you would think of when you imagine a collar. Wide, black, attachment ring, etc.

Outside (when on at a party or kink function) they are given a casual collar of some kind to remind them they are owned. A chain necklace with lock. Heavy ring. etc. Something like this is meant for their days at work or running errands discreetly.

Required, not always. It depends on what their Master prefers. And there may be limitations depending on where they work, as to whether even discreet jewellery is allowed.
