Aussies! Check in here!

Bathurt?

haha and well done to the Western Bulldogs who had Swans on toast.

You damn well know that was a typo! Nor Would I say on toast until the final 10mins of the last quarter. *pokes tongue*

I will have an awesome time :)
Meeting up with my fb in Sydney and we're going together - and I won't be driving at all (once we get there it'll likely be track all day, bed all night, and not much free time between :D )
*sigh
I cannot wait to get laid again.....

Oh - and I'm looking forward to the racing!
lol

 love it!

South Burnett Region, Queensland. Lovely rainy day today. If only the kids weren't home on holidays, would be a nice day to spend in bed with the one and only.

6am on raceday! I have had a ball so far :)
I have walked a gazillion miles over the last 3 days, but today is my sit-and-don't-move day.
Bathurst has been so much fun! Not entirely sure why I left it so long to come here?!?
I've met a whole bunch of great people, had several awesome evenings back at tent city, and will likely have people coming to stay for next years Symmons Plains meet.
Only gripe is that everything is such a long walk from everything else.

Bring on the race at 11am today :D

Half your luck! I hope you enjoyed the race. I had to go and get drunk and dance and make foolish speeches at a wedding. Last I saw, Le Brocq was leading.

What an awesome finish to the race! I was up on my feet, cheering and yelling for the last hour +!
And for Davey Reynolds to break the lap record was just awesome :D
Definitely one of the better finishes to Bathurst for the past few years!!!
Sooooooo glad I was here to see it....

I hear it was a great race. Unfortunately the winds here took out the power around lunchtime and it didn't return til today, so I missed everything.

Bathurst was awesome. Swans v Bulldogs - still awesome being in the crowd on such a historic occasion, even though the wrong team won!

Now the next major sporting event is in the USA, watching them destroy any credibility the country might have had. Time to re-stock on popcorn.

Afternoon all,

Welcome to all the new people posting in the last couple of pages.

Suppose everyone has been hanging on to their rooves with all that wind around it seems everywhere in the southern parts of the country. Thought the neighbour's carport door was finally going to fly off last night.

Those few sunny days were rather nice, even managed to get some gardening done.

So the plebiscite is dead even though the Libs keep talking about it, and Brandis is not a fan of his senior public servant. Must have a king complex, although if he was my "leader" I'd probably revolt as well.

Noticed the Christmas stuff was out in the shops before the start of the month, sign of the year coming to a close and the cricket starts in a few weeks.

Hope everyone has had a good weekend.

Pht. Lost the weekend travelling between countries for work. Back home for next weekend though - they owe me plenty!

Back home :)
Had a ball at Bathurst! Might have to explore the possibility of going for the 12-hour next Feb as well as the next Supercheap 1000 next October!
I stopped in and stayed with Gil and Bandit (longtime former members of lit) in Sydney on the way home. It was nice to catch up with them....
But now it's time to get back to reality and sort my life out here again.

I'm all done packing etc, but I don't fly out till Tues morning. Couldn't get a flight earlier due to school holidays :(
I am getting frustrated with the waiting! lol

How's you?

Sorry for the interregnum... Sounds like you did have a great time!

I'm doing pretty well thanks for asking. Certainly a little less lost. Plenty of parts still to find mind you :)

Back to the reality and grind of everyday life.... Seems taking time out always ends up making a hell of a lot more work for me when I get back!
My life may yet change again as I am rethinking my options after my youngest moves out next Feb. I might end up completely alone (not a bad thing) or I may end up moving to the mainland (also not a bad thing) or I may move in with my daughters family to help them achieve the deposit on their own place (not entirely sure as to how I feel about this one.)
In the meantime, I am once again going through all my accumulated stuff with a view to minimising .... something I tend to do on a regular basis. I just can't seem to deal with too much 'stuff' - most likely a side effect of my ocd *sigh*

Oh - and could someone please switch spring/summer back on?

It's back on here! After a weird grey, cool Sunday... thought I was having a dream about having returned to London :D

Hey WQ

Always interesting how much stuff we collect even in a short time let alone if you stay in the same place for a long time. Like you I'll be doing another clean out soon, once my retirement status is officially recognized. You always find stuff you forgot about but does feel good once done.

Afternoon all,

Well another month ending and I'm one month closer to getting money coming in again which will feel good. Tomorrow will make 2 and 1/2 yrs since I resigned from the workforce and same time since I earned an income.

Had a good shopping week savings lots on stuff and had a poke around a new shopping area.

An unofficial long weekend here in Melbourne town ahead of the Melbourne Cup tomorrow, although today is also a good time to be at work to get stuff done since most people take the day off. With all that wind we had yesterday the weather has turned cooler once again so possibly not a good day weatherwise for the Cup tomorrow. Plan on getting wet at some stage if anyone is going.

Looking forward to the first Test later this week. The team has a bit to prove against the South Africans.

Nearly time to start those remaining painting tasks once the weather gets a bit warmer and also practice my lumber jack act in the garden.

Change is in the air!

Looks like I will be doing none of the stuff I mentioned a few posts up - instead I am flying up to Bris to help my fb drive back to Tassie... where we will be moving in together to see how we go...
I'm kinda excited and kinda scared at the same time.
So, I am heading out on the 12th Nov and should be back in Tas around the 16/17th.

We had such a great time together at Bathurst that this might just work :)

Ever thought of just staying up here? It's rather nice :)

I arrive 7-30pm sat 12th, and will be driving out the next morning..... so probably not realistic anyway :(
