YES, SIR, YES SIR, 3 BAGS FULL.

Where do you draw the line with ENOUGH when you compose scenes?

My characters tell me when they have no more to say on that subject. Usually, it's another character who wants his or her say to what I have just written on behalf of the first character.

As if this site is called Pornorotica instead of Literotica, too many writers don't take the time to develop their characters. They just write about sex.

How much can you really write about sex that hasn't already been written? It's the characters and the story that makes sex interesting, hotly erotic, and compelling to read.

Oh how I struggle with that.

I can write on and on about conversations and situations between my characters, and sex might not show up until after a chapter or two. The sex isn't even the important bit- it's what they say or do that makes it so charged and special. I mean, take it from real life- a simple kiss between two characters who have oodles of history between them hits much much more than full on sex with random hottie #5.

And I agree, how many sexual acts can you do anyway? Are all your characters gonna agree for BDSM, or homo, or group sex or whatever? Of course not, if the characters have personalities... And anyway, describing sex is boring. After a while it feels like I'm writing some kind of instruction manual.

BUT in my head, I tell myself.. this site is finally, for porn. You won't find readers if you don't do that (of course, if the story is good, they will read no matter what, but the promise of sexy time is your first bait, right?) So, I delete and delete and cry and delete...

I cannot post my stories on a normal site either. My sexual tastes aren't exactly vanilla. I don't want to write vanilla. I like angry, bloody, mind and soul robbing sex.

Of course, if you're an established writer here, then your readers won't mind what you spew. They're pretty loyal here, I think. But if you're new.. somehow, you have to attract them, then find a way to keep them.

I recently read an exceptional underage sex novel by Lawrence Block from 1960 or so. In those times teens fucked, and the book is about a teen's quest to get laid right. She has boyfriends but wants a real man, and finds him. The whole thing is more than porn. I suspect plenty of teens want the same or similar. As such it appeals to my sense of realism. Our femifloozies will squeal but a contemporary version of this tale might be well received by teen readers.

Or it might not. Teens today are a whole lot smarter than teens back in the 60's about sex. In any case it would be a hard sell to get post here on Lit.

All you can do is to write what you know and to write for yourself.

If you write it...they'll read it.

Good luck with your struggle.

I maintain that a good story and characters trumps any other shortcomings with a particular story here or anywhere. The more graphic the sex, the more wanker votes, but that's the least interesting reason to write and post stories.

Did you perhaps lose sight of this being a sex story site? If you think this is the least interesting reason to write and post stories, why are you on this Web site? Sorry, I just shake my head at that sort of perception of Literotica.

As you're well aware, there's a huge difference between pornography and erotica.

I have fans who appreciate good writing and, believe it or not, come here to read essay, non-erotic, romance, mature, and any other category that is not just about sex. They'd never read incest, bondage, gay, lesbian, and/or fetish stories.

There's room enough for everyone to coexist.

You're so cute when you're trying to be a woman, Freddie. :D

And, no, there isn't a big difference between erotica and pornography--other than the snobs who are into denial, of course.

I compare porn and erotica the way I look at sex. Porn is when you're both just fucking horny and need it and its skirt up, pants down, up against the wall....

Erotica is when you're taking your time. Long slow, teasing touching...

Both of those lead to release but in a different way, porn is that primal short savage and satisfying release. Erotica is that intense one that's built up for awhile.

But in the end, both are great and ones not better than the other, it all depends on mood. Same for reading. Sometimes a one handed read is great other times I want to anticipate that release for awhile.

Some people talk about literary erotica, I like to consider it smut with depth.

No matter how graphic the description of the act gets, I categorize anything that includes the emotional aspect of it as erotica and something that only includes the physical tab A/slot B of it as pornography.

I haven't read any of your stories. I can only assume from your post that you write primarily wanker stories. No plot required. No character development required. Just sex for wankers since that's your perception of Literotica. If that's true, I think it is you who have the misperception.

But I don't think that's true. I think you probably write because you have something to say. You have characters you like and want to explore their relationships by telling a story. About sex. Sex is an integral part of the characters relationship, but it's generally the least interesting part. It's just mechanics and plumbing without a compelling story or interesting characters to act it out.

You assume incorrectly. You can provide plenty of plot, setting (which you failed to mention, but which I pay attention to), and characterization without the sex you embed becoming the least element included in a story posted to an erotica story site. Since you didn't check before making that assumption, I'll stop reading your post there. You obviously didn't mind being insulting without doing any research.

Again, with your attitude I wonder why you are on this Web site at all. I've looked at your story list and I still am wondering. You don't seem confident enough in your writing to this type of Web site to leave your stories open for voting or comment.

I hope you edit better than you read. The second paragraph would have told you I wasn't insulting you at all.

But, granted, this one I did. You really don't bother to read other posts. You just scan for triggers, then shoot your mouth off. Enjoyed chatting with you at times. but in the end it's not very productive or entertaining. I'm done.

Hope you write better than you read. My post clearly said I didn't read your post past the insulting assumption.

No, thanks, I think I have an idea already.
Most of the posters here are 14 year old boys who've lost their favorite sock.

Actually, while you are right about the lost socks, I think you are wrong about the ages. They are really between 68 and 79 years old.

So there's this thing I noticed that as you age, you regress back to a childish state (sans teeth, sans eyes, sans yaadayaada).
So, yes, they are 14.
By that calculation, if 14 is say 68, what is the midpoint? (The age where you start regressing)
Will find out in a minute.

Michael, you and Kim are most welcome to leap into traffic and spare yourselves the indignity of old age. But Hamlet said it all with, CONSCIENCE DOTH MAKE COWARDS OF US ALL.

Yep..and you thought the whole Trump-Clinton 'debate' thingy was childish...batten down your hatches.

LOL..touche!!!:D --- I hope I can persuade her to do as you say.

41. Ah. And it makes perfect sense too.
Hey, I'm looking forward to old age. A time when I can be as big of a thankless douchebag as I want.
Reaction when I do something wrong now: "Ugh Kim, act your age!"
Reaction when I do the same thing at 84: "Ahh, ignore her, she's old.."
WIN, I say.
