It made the news up here a few years ago that there was a large increase in Romanian girls getting work visas due to shortage of labour in the exotic dancer market. A co-worker of mine did a mail order bride type thing with a Russian woman a few years ago. He was fat, old, and bald. Haven't seen her. People say shes gorgeous.

I was watching 90 day fiance the other day, and there was this couple where the woman (immigrant) was obviously there to gold dig. It was disgusting. This is the episode I am talking about. She is a giant bag of terrible. BUT! He's also a dumb moron for putting up with that shit. Makes me wonder if that's how those Romanian girls that you were talking about ended up in Canada.
 
Those women Are gold diggers inded. Unfortunately, the media reinforces that stereotype that couldn't be farther away from the truth.

Most russians (I met quite a few) are family oriented and have strong values . They are anything but gold diggers with regards to theirr choice of a partner. With all due respect, but american women overall are far more materialistic imo.

They were just here on temporary work visas (1 year). Most went back home. Most were just here to send money back home.

My mum did a cruise on the Black Sea. Whole villages in Bulgaria and Romania are devoid of young people. Just old folk left.

They had to go through vetting to show they were exotic dancers not prostitutes (would loved to have that embassy job).

Stripping in Canada or get caught up in human trafficking in Europe? The 90s were bad years in Romania. By early 2000s things had got better.
