When the debates are on or just when the cameras in general are rolling, which candidate for president is more natural in public?
In other words, do you think the genial, smiling Hillary Clinton we see is the same person behind the scenes. Is Trump the same brash, boastful narcissistic in private?

Maybe they're both being honest. Maybe Hillary is someone who has to plan out when she smiles. Maybe Trump is that big of a narcissistic blowhard.

I couldn't agree more.
And my own view is that Hillary is pretty much the polar opposite of how she acts in public.

Yes, I think Trump acts like Trump all the time. I think Hillary's performance is a marked contrast to her personality in private. I've read too many times that she is a mean-spirited asshole.
BTW, I didn't watch the debate by my wife did and reports that Trump acted like an asshole. You could say Hillary and Trump are taking this campaign to a "hole" 'nother level.
