*Sunday bump*

*wobbles in looking a tiny bit pale and wan*

Well that was a lovely weekend, good company, good food, lovely wine. Very lovely wine. :D

Need to lie on the sofa and be quiet and good for a few days, I think. ;)

Sounds like a very lovely weekend, indeed! I can't imagine being 'good' for long. Let me know how that goes for you! ;)

The crystalization factors are the range of nectars, the presence or not of a residue of pollen in the honey [on which crystals will like to begin forming] and the temperature of where it is kept. We have friends with an always-warm kitchen in which my honey stays runny until it's finished, at least that's what happened last year. But last year ours stayed runny until late January, this year for much less time, and yet as I say it's a deliciously soft and completely un-gritty crystal.

This season has not been grand in terms of quantity of surplus honey, but one reason for that is that I have allowed swarming in order to increase the number of colonies. At the end of last winter I had three strong colonies and two which had really struggled to survive the winter, from one of which I had to remove and kill the queen as she was no longer laying. I begin this winter with eight colonies, four of them with new queens which have made a promising first part-season in terms of their laying. If I manage to get things perfect for them through the winter in terms of ventilation and temperature and removal of varroa destructor mites, I'll be well set for a much bigger harvest of honey next year.

It sounds like such a skilled operation, but with such lovely rewards. I always think of you when I see bee hives anywhere.

Or honey.

(Not that kind of honey... ;))

Oh, I shan't be 'good' good, but my liver does need a little rest!

I'm sure I can find other ways to be bad... *grins*

:D

All booked now. No balcony, but all the other elements are there

(I have no idea if there's a dishwasher )

Bugger, bollocks and bum.

The perfect villa for next summer. Restraint points in the bedroom, wonderful views, perfect pool to sneak out to for naughtiness under the stars...

All booked. Then this morning, a phone call. "Je suis desolé...". She sold it! Arggghhh.

Now there's a name I haven't seen in a while! Hello!

And thank you, although it's actually pretty rubbish as an umbrella. OK as a preserver of my modesty ;) *coughs* (such as it is... :D)

Makes a man have to use his imagination. Nothing wrong with that....Until a mess presumes.

Imagination is good ;) And mess... :) Eventually...

That's my 'autumn' AV. I have another one planned for when it gets properly cold and my winter coat comes out.

Not bad. How are you, sexy minx?

Much better than yesterday! Was a teeny bit fragile after a little over-indulgence at my BiL/SiL... Lovely evening though, and a great lunch yesterday even though I was driving and hence not drinking

Did you have a good weekend?

It was busy, but very productive. Didn't eat too much. Just on the go go go!

Easy clean up. Sorry to read about your lost getaway. Was there a backup plan?

Well, it's not til next summer. Just annoying because it looked so lovely, I don't know why she was still advertising it for rental if she was selling....

Maybe it'll be a blessing in disguise, and there'll be somewhere even more lovely. Plenty available, it seems - found a couple of cracking places in the Dordogne (get me, eh? :D)

I was auditing some pictures from the summer earlier, found this one I never got round to posting. From the start of the summer.

Before the really hot weather, before that picnic, before Brexit, even...
