The Russians are coming, the Russians are coming.

The ruskies are coming! According to Sarah Palin that is what paul revere shouted to warn the british that the Chinese were coming.

When was the last time 'fucktard' was in vogue?

So we have a new iteration of an old alt...

What interested me was the treatment the US press got in China. It's about time someone put them in their place. The press's sense of entitlements has grown over the years far out of proportion to their actual position in society. Perhaps it's a trend that will catch on.

I use the word 'censorship' because that's what it amounts to. I fully understand her desire to not have her parties dirty laundry aired publicly. On the other hand the public does have the right, and need, to know what mechanations are occurring within the political parties.

Yet another idiot chimes in. The one post has NOTHING to do with the other. If you were even 5% up to speed on the news you'd know that, but you don't so that pretty much pegs your awareness of events.

Ishtard gets his current news from this guy:

Claiming you are not hip on pop-culture, proudly, then claiming you're all up to speed on the news is about as contradictory as you can get.

No go ahead and say something stupid like, "Some of us don't get all our news from the Boof of Faces feed!"

Hillary's main argument regarding the ongoing Wikileaks saga is that, "It's illegal" and that it's the "Russians."

Illegal? Yup, no argument from me there. On the other hand SCOTUS has decided that inter-web communications are NOT subject to Constitutional protections.

What evidence has been presented that it's the Russians? Only the word of the Obama administration. An administration that has been notorious regarding lying to the public.

And I ask once more, "What are the Russians motives for supporting Trump?" No one has been able to answer that question. No one in the administration has provided any substantive proof that the Russians have been do technologically incompetent to have been caught so easily.

Why would hackers of any stripe be so overtly anti-Hillary? (On that one I do have an answer, but I'll reserve that for later.)

And even if it is the Russians and illegal, why shouldn't the American public be privy to the thoughts of an individual running for the highest office in the land? Is duplicity not subject to public scrutiny? If not, why not?

This isn't the NFL and this isn't a no account football game whose conclusion has no effect on anyone that didn't put serious money up. Reading lips from the sky box is just alright by me.

Follow the money.

I would laugh my ass off if the Russians hacked the election and helped Trump win. It would be poetic justice since the Dem's have been active in voter fraud since forever. The Irony, a communist country helping a democratic one have a fair election.

Articles such as the one linked below are popping up all over the media. If the sources were mostly conservative outlets we'd probably be treated to a cacophony of "right wing conspiracy nuts" op-eds in the MSM. Oddly enough the articles are popping up with more frequency in the liberal rags.

"Russian Conspiracy?"

On the backs of Homeland Security proclaiming that the elections are "critical infrastructure" one has to wonder what in the hell is going on? Do the Feds actually want to take over the elections from the states? SCOTUS recently ruled that that is a constitutional no-no, so is national security a back door attempt?

All of this concern is easily avoidable, show up in person, show a valid ID, vote on paper. I doubt that Russia, or anyone else for that matter, can flood the country with enough operatives to make a significant difference.

When you think about it this is the perfect method for a sitting government to declare the results of an election invalid if they don't like the outcome. Set up a bogey man (Russia) and cry FOUL.

Absurd? One would certainly hope so, but considering the antics and out and out lies that this administration has foisted on the public over the past 8 years maybe not so much so.

I would think this would be a motivator to have national standards for voting in Federal Elections instead of the mishmash of State regulations.
How the several states want to regulate voting in state elections definitely should be up to each state.

The Federal elections, as they affect all states, associated free states and territories, do need a uniform standard overseen by the FEC.

I would like to point out one minor factoid of a trivial nature;
Edward Snowden has been living as a political refugee in Russia for the last several years. The Russians may be a lot of things, but negligent in utilizing an asset against a perceived geopolitical opponent is rarely one of their failings.

Just sayin'...

Russia is in the news today.

But, you know, pussy...

At this point, I would not rule out a move on complete annexation of the Ukraine now that they are in a shouting match with the French over Syria.

I'm thinking we're seeing the rise of a Sino-Russo-Shia axis that aims to assert its political, economic and military dominance over the triangle of Lisbon, Vladavostok and Johannesburg.

.

Read the Constitution. The Federal government does NOT run the elections, nor is it empowered to do so. Each state selects their own electors.

Re. The emboldened comment you have made. I'm still waiting for some one, any one, to come up with a reasonable argument as to why the Russians would prefer Trump over Clinton when in reality Clinton would be the obvious choice for them. She's weak, geopolitically incompetent, and can be bought.

Ishmael

The Russians are really annoyed by the UK's Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson calling for demonstrations outside the Russian Embassy in London.

Boris called them out for atrocities in Syria.

The Russian response on their media was massive including an interview with President Putin.

The number of demonstrators outside the London Russian Embassy as a result of Boris Johnson's call?

One. And she would have been there anyway.

It's a UK conspiracy against Greater Russia!

Is that TIC?

They're pissed as hell at the breaking of a handshake agreement and the eastward expansion of NATO...

Is that TIC?

They're pissed as hell at the breaking of a handshake agreement and the eastward expansion of NATO...

And NATO is pissed as hell at Russia's invasion of the Crimea and Eastern Ukraine and Russia's threats to the Baltic states.

In Syria Russia wants to keep and expand its military bases to confront NATO that already has many bases in the Eastern Mediterranean.

It's all about influence and military capability.

Who made the first moves?

NATO

They took in former Russian vassal states. They took advantage of Russia went it was consumed with inner turmoil. Now that power has been consolidated, the Russian citizen looks outward (based upon several polls over the past few years), sees nothing but encroaching enemies and approve of efforts to "protect Russians." They are also still pissed that they were in no position to protect the Slavs in the Balkans at a time when we were bombing the shit out of them in order to coddle the lying fucking Muslim encroachment...

*SPit!*

... and in the aftermath, we found no genocide. So now they build up alliances with China, Iran, Syria, anyone and everyone that considers the West as evil.
