'Course I'm most familiar with those here in the US, but I'm happy to be introduced to talking heads from other countries. Much happier if they speak English (or come with translation).

So is it someone mainstream, or a wayfaring soul out in there in blog/YouTube land? Who makes sense of things for you? Or, best of all, who just provides the info you need in order to make sense of it all for yourself?

Maddow? Hannity? The infamous Alex Jones? Or is it someone in print?

Don''t be shy! And do please post an example of your favorite at his or her best.

My current fave is Dave Rubin. A classic liberal formerly of The Young Turks, he's done well after striking out on his own. He doesn't do "news" per se, but still focuses on trending topics by interviewing controversial figures who are involved in them, and he attracts some big names. His underlying mission is to promote healthy dialogue that eschews demonization. There's no shortage of people who lament how nasty the current political climate is, but very few willing to set themselves apart from it. Rubin does.

Long gone. Neil Boortz. What I liked about him was his wicked sence of humor. He would skewer anyone.

Haven't heard him in a long while, but Mike Church. Started appreciating him for his love of American history. Stayed for law and economics. Eventually, I came to appreciate his call for the virtues of time-honored traditions. I think his Catholic-centric take on things is a little bit narrow but I think one can easily expand the ideas to any particular discipline or tradition.

X-listener of XM Radio,
Que, et al.

Chris Matthews because he's smart, entertaining, and blunt.

Bill Moyers & co (during it's time) and Steve Paikin (The Agenda).

I was told that they're both instruments of propaganda for whatever or whomever. Nevertheless, they present things in a way that I understand, plus: are there Any news that aren't biased nowadays?

Talking head - Glenn Beck. I think he's hilarious!

News color analyst - Krautheimer

In print - Matt Walsh

Sorry, I don't have examples, but they should be easy to find.

Samantha Bee (host of "Full Frontal" on TBS) and John Fugelsang (host of "Tell Me Everything" on Sirius).

My fav. is actually Peter Lavelle from "Cross talk".
Secondly: Bill Moyers& Co and Thomas Hartmann from "The big picture RT / Conversations with great minds".

I was quite reluctant to bring them up because those newssites are sponsored by Russia, therefore heavily biased.

Nevertheless, they were smart in that they employed such charismatic political analysts!
Both of them present things in such an easy to understand and vibrant and interesting manner, that one never loses interest.

perhaps i am strange in this,
but i find that i appreciate the pundits
who intelligently challenge my (current) set of beliefs
instead of those
who rally what i already hold...

the loudest of them
(on all sides)
tend to spew the least intelligent dicta
sloganeering and such...

talking points
instead of talking through them...

politics... elections... are conversations, not binary exercises...

to negate the conversation, by refusing to listen
by refusing to offer consideration
negates the greatest benefit of the process...

i want my beliefs challenged
i want my theories subjected to scrutiny
i am not grievously jealous to be always right.
(as if that is measure of anything essentially important)
