“I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.” Anne said it in "Anne of Green Gables", and I know a lot of us love this month. What do you love, or what are you excited for, about October? I have many things, but to start with, it's the way the light slants, and the clarity of the air unencumbered by the heat and humidity of summer. What's your favorite?

Ooo! Celebrating October! Love this! :)

Town festivals on not-hot, sunny days. The fire pit at the river and the smores that go with. Hikes to hidden waterfalls in the cool, crisp air.

And most of all...UGA football! :D

I love getting all of my sweaters out of storage, lighting autumn candles, and drinking hot chocolate while I watch the new season of my fave shows.

Also I get to put out all of my Halloween stuff and it is plentiful.

I'm excited to get out the fall decorations too! My house will be glowing with autumn colors when I'm done!

I love ...

The cool weather change

CANDY!!!

:D

I bought two bags of Halloween candy. Only one is left. I think I might have to increase my gym time or go on an extra run.

Yay! Hocus Pocus and Beetlejuice and It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown for me!

candycandycandycandycandy......:)

LOL

I love seeing all the kids from the child day care on campus ...

Just another reason for CANDY!!!

:D

All of the above and shivering in the stands watching nieces and nephews cheer or play football. Campfires. Caramel apples. Pumpkin pie. Roasting marshmallows. Snuggling on the couch with a warm blanket and a good book. Fuzzy socks.

Turning the AC off and my electric bill shrinking. :D

seeing your breath in the morning. colorful leaves. the smell in the air when you can tell it is going to snow. baking with pumpkin...

An I'll get to start listening to my Christmas music!

Samhain; my time of getting together with the dead, remembering them, and then letting them go for another year. :rose:

I love the cooler weather and listening to the rain as it hits the roof.

The caramel apples, hot apple cider and cups of cocoa or hot tea.

Might even start some baking so the house will be filled with the aroma of pumpkin, chocolate, cinnamon and all those other yummy smells of fall.

The hoodies start to come out of the closet along with the fleece PJ pants to lounge around the house in.

Fall is my favorite season, must be because I was born a few days after the autumnal equinox.

Even though I'm not a football fanatic, I like the sound of a game on the tv in the background. It just feels like fall.

so many beautiful things about fall....I like planting flower bulbs and knowing my hard work will be rewarded in the spring. The dew on the grass and the smell of the leaves off the trees.

Paddling rivers and seeing the fall colors as I run rapids. Green Race is just around the corner. (First Saturday in November)

I KNOW, right? Fall festivals....I'm going to hit one or two of those in the next few weeks!

Down here it's the lessening of the sometimes stifling humidity but also the anticipation of & preparation for a possibly active hurricane season.

But up north is the best, with the cooling of the temps, the kaleidoscope of changing colours, the smell of woodsmoke & the coming of Halloween, one of my favourite holidays. And of course, who can resist the anticipation of waiting all night in a pumpkin patch for the appearance of the Great Pumpkin!
