CEO Shaming

Sorry, but you are wrong.

In the deep South, there were problems, but I grew up on a fourth-generation family farm next to black people who were also third-generation farmers and we went to the same church and the same school with zero problems until the 70s when the #BLM movement had its inception...

All white people were blamed for the problems created by a vast minority of white people and the same holds true today, but Allah save us you tarnish Islam by the actions of a few "not" Islamic terrorists.

That is funny because I grew up in the north. Eastern north. I remember my Aunt crying because I sat at a counter in a Woolworth in the 80's and was served. You may have lived in Mayberry, but the rest of us did not. Please just accept that your background was a lot different than damn near any Americans and try not to state how right you are when you seem to have lived a very sheltered life. Hell in the last 10 years I have have seen bigots a go go on every things from race to sexuality and to woman's rights. This country is split on many many issues.

It's historical fact not a matter of being jaded.

This country has NEVER been united in religion.

It's actually why it was founded in the first place....

Now lets get back on the topic of the thread. Shaming Ceo's. Anyone have any other companies they thing should be shamed? Of ways they would think to do it?

lol indeed.
What planet are you living on, BB?
Give me one person in the world -besides you- who believes that

All the libertards believe it.

They've been conditioned to believe that the CRA that Carter and Clinton enacted forced banks to give mortgages to poor people that couldn't afford them.

Therefore banking was meltdown caused by the two groups of people that libertarians are trained to hate, poor people and public servants.

Nothing could be further from the truth. Their theory is utter bunk that doesn't pass the smell test.

But they believe it wholeheartedly because they are gullible, full of hate and utterly stupid.

As in government and NGOs, there is a fair amount of corruption in corporations. CEOs act as the face of their corporations. Their boards are generally trying to avoid embarrassment and improve stock value, so they usually want to avoid negative publicity.

The changes that took place at Target following incidents of political indoctrination of employees started with CEO shaming, but were ultimately facilitated by the potential loss of revenue. The same thing is happening with Wells Fargo right now, but in this instance, having to do with corporate incentives to exploit customers with inappropriate fees.

Monopolistic corporations tend to be so buffered from economic consequences that they have very little sense of shame, similar to some of the trolls on the Lit boards. Where there is no sense of shame, there tends to be a normalization of bizarre behavior. In these cases, the shameless don't care if the attention they receive is positive or negative, since they mainly just want attention.

So, CEO shaming is an important accountability tool, but it does not work in all situations.

2008 was an unintended consequence of warm fuzzy government fuckery, not capitalism.
Now that I paid closer attention, I'm starting to catch your drift. You were probably referring to the fact that the government failed to provide the safety checks, and that those Wall Street people or so on took advantage of the lack of oversight.
Unchecked capitalism and corruption versius honest capitalism, or something like that.

But you have to admit: it came out in a funny way. :)

There's no such thing as 'honest capitalism'.

The 2007-8 meltdown was a direct result of finance capitalists gaming the system and buying politicians to deregulate and allow them to commit systemic fraud.

Were there bent politicians involved? Yes.

Does that mean that government drove it? Of course not.

1.i just saw your post after writing mine.
Unbelievable that politicians managed to manipulate a segment of the population into believing that. They must have very good Think Tanks or advisers.

2. However, I don't blame the laypeople who still cling to this idea tho, and I don't think that it's about class warfare or hating the poor for them, tho.

It's more about the fact that they grew up with and lived with this utopic ideal of capitalism. It's wishful thinking and dreams are hard to give up.
It took me many painful years to restructure my reality after I emmigrated, and my ideas about life wheren't That at odds with the new culture that I found myself in. And my reprogramming was around issues that seemed minuscule compared to theirs.

How much money are you worth? Yes, I am asking you specifically. Ever taken a job that paid more? Moved on for the raise? Ever bargained for a pay raise with your current employer?

You are all selfish bastids. Didn't even think about those that were paid less.

No it wasn't unchecked capitalism.

It was capitalism getting in bed with and using the power of government.

The banks wouldn't have written all that bad paper that blew up in everyone's face if the government hadn't told them to do it and backed the move. If they didn't know they could walk into congress and take whatever they wanted because "Too big to fail!!" they wouldn't have been out making loans to people who couldn't pay them.

There's no such thing as 'honest capitalism'.

You're right it's just called capitalism.

The 2007-8 meltdown was a direct result of finance capitalists gaming the system and buying politicians to deregulate and allow them to commit systemic fraud.

Here is your sign. And they didn't deregulate, they regulated poorly with letting their buddies rat fuck the people in mind. There is a difference.

Were there bent politicians involved? Yes.

Does that mean that government drove it? Of course not.

How is it not the government if it can't happen without the politicians setting them up and protecting them? Government was the enabler bigger than all shit for the 2008 meltdown. It simply couldn't have happened without their greed.

Now I understand what you really meant. Makes a lot of sense.
So you were referring to corruption as opposed to systems, is it?

No one and everyone. All the people that think a wage is unfair. We all want the highest dollar for our work.

Edited to add

We all want to be paid more but somehow when someone makes more it is unfair.

Americans on the whole have no understanding of what 'capitalism'
means.

Those who do are considered to be 'America haters', commies or even terrorists.

Can you tell us what capitalism means? :D

I'm betting you can't, certainly not in a manner that fits your "shit I don't like" use of it.

"Those who do are considered to be 'America haters', commies or even terrorists."

And America kills them in the tens of millions while the populace believes it is under threat from poor people.

You almost have to admire how the propaganda has worked.
