The Living Works of Art Challenge II - Female Body Edition

LWOAC-II: #2 Nascita di Venere

For me, a reference to the birth of any goddess/god/myth always takes me to the origin of the Universe (*pauses for the big bang references*).
So here is my rendition of the birth of Venus, from the stars and the darkness and the light.

Beautiful Omega.
I think this week's pose suited us all nicely.
It did indeed Icy :)
Beautiful job Omega.
Oh and your pedi looks amazing.
....

Thanks Lizzie, home done
Grrrr new page again! Wtf.

Nailed the pose . . . positively Venus-like. Love it, Omega. :)
Thanks JRP
Perhaps, but many of us gentlemen would be happy to delve into your drawers, if you were wearing any! :D
:D welcome to delve any time
Such a lovely Venus you are, Omega. :rose::kiss:
As are you Mara

And here's mine. That Alpaca scarf will be coming out for good quite soon when the weather turns properly.

I should also credit Icy for the original scarf idea - I hadn't thought of it myself, but it's way quicker than growing all that hair... ;)

What lovely company to be in. I'm glad to be in the same gallery with such art and ladies.

Once again I'm behind. :( Who am I kidding? Being behind these ladies would be awesome! :D

Beautiful Numi! :rose: Or is that beautiful Numi? In either case, that's a great shot. The red scraf was a shortcut and far preferable to being locked in a tower and having some upper class twit of the year climb up your hair.

It seems that scarf is destined to end up in all my favorite photos of you my goddess   but as always it's the woman that makes the clothing and not the other way around. The simplest way to say it is that your curves are divine.

I'm enjoying the reboot of classical art far more than the reboot of Gene's iconic series. Nice job pulling a second god reference into the post (the one also known as Hephaestus). I'm sure the line to sign up for the 5 year exploration is already forming. Just be careful who you let go where no man has gone before. ;)

Cheers

Well done ladies...

...on all your amazing pics! This is far and away my favorite new thread!!! I like art and these interpretations are beautiful and sexy at the same time!! I can't wait for more!!!

OMG The red with the black and white is striking, not to mention the lady, beautifully done! :rose:

Gorgeous!!:rose:

Such a beautiful rendition, Numi. I'm entranced by your hands. :rose::heart:

Thank you, Mara, they were quite important for the maintaining of Venus' modesty in this one, eh? ;)

WELL DONE, NICE!

Thank you!

Very pretty. You say the scarf will keep you warm when the weather turns cold, but I think you could drop the scarf and find that it got hot all of a sudden.

It'll keep some of me warm. I'll need some help with the rest of me

Ah, the lovely Numi makes her appearance modelling this year's 'must have' accessory for any Venus in cooler climes, an Alpaca scarf. ;) Very nice!

Venus of the Alpaca. I think it could catch on? Thank you, oh master of the museum!

Thanks, Tali! It's kind of fun, this, no? :)

Beautiful image!

Thank you, Mr Canada!

Oh, that's so classy, I love it!

I'd like to be able to come up with something profound, yet scientifically sound. For some reason, though, my brain is yelling 'Nanu nanu' instead. Which also dates me somewhat...

Wow! This created a massive disturbance of the space-time continuum....in my pants.

I had some fun with this one! I don't have a giant clam shell handy so I got the next best thing, I found a picture of one and used it as background. It came out pretty good! :)

I love this. And it would make an *awesome* album cover.

Icy can't be the only model for this pose (although she does it beautifully). JRP is making it easy for me to fiddle with pics to make them fit here (and thanks to Glendale for the fiddling). No sea, no shell, no flowing red hair--just an approximation of the posture.

I love the color tones and shadows in this picture, and MGD32A looks lovely.

Like Icy, I too enjoyed this one more than the last. It felt like a much more natural pose. Wigs would have been fun to play with in this pose, but the long hair is in the other house. So a fall of silk will have to do for this watery Venus.

Both of these use color beautifully to accent the fine feminine forms, and convey something of the spirit of the original.

I love Star Trek and the way you bring that classic to this classic pose from a myth that was not so much big bang as big no more banging for Uranus. Your lovely Venus might have been enough to help him grow new ones.
