University/college experience

if the doctor says i need something for pain, and i hurt, i take what the dr gives me. it's not something i abuse. i do feel off or groggy. i don't want to drive. i also try to avoid getting to that point as holistically as possible.

Good to know that I'm not the only one that BB pulls this shit on.

It's pathetic.

We love science but the marketing depts of pharmaceutical companies put us st a great disadvantage to providing appropriate care. Most patients want a narcotic when a strong NSAID will cover their pain.

And sometimes the NSAID would actually be better than an opiate since they decrease inflammation, often the primary cause of the pain. We have to educate ourselves and our patients but it ain't easy. We do it one patient at a time while advertising hits millions endlessly. Medically, at least, we were better off when direct pharmaceutical advertising to consumers wasn't allowed.

Awwwwww

Look at all that ass hurt! :D

That you are unable to admit defeat does not mean that you haven't been defeated.

You're just too immature to admit it and too dumb to know that your crap isn't seen through.

I admit defeat regularly however that didn't happen here.

The only crap being seen through here is the emotional, anecdotal and off topic bullshit that got tossed out.

There is no moral high ground when choosing to consume one brand of drug over another. Grandma Xanax doesn't have room to shit talk the person who drinks or smokes to chill. And the oxy user doesn't have room to shit talk the opium smoker.

Unless you've thought of something?

Can you explain how choosing high dollar government approved brand of drug makes one morally superior to those who can only afford or gain access to the 'lesser' versions of that drug?

If you can then I'll gladly admit you're right, but I'm betting you've got nothing more than shit talk. ;):D

You may well have convinced yourself that your inane manufactured false dilemmas are clever and that the fact that they are unanswerable means you 'win' something.

But that's the kind of juvenile stupidity that you do. It's pointless and annoying to the grown ups.

Try being honest sometime.

My initial thought was WTF? Some of the nicest GB posters are starting to emulate the likes of Disgustipated and RobDownSouth?

But then I saw Mike's initial post about the movie.

Haha Mike never disappoints. :)

Forrest Gump is one of my favorite movies! :)

I absolutely smashed it in high school. Primary, intermediate... I was awarded a full scholarship for an elite boarding school when I turned 10.

The only problem was my mum was sick and it was so far away. So I didn't end up going. But as I said. I smashed it at high school.

After, I took a break. Well...sorta took a break. I had a government job and I did a lot of travelling. Mainly between NZ and AUS. Studying and working full time.

Perhaps you just need a little break like that. Actually, I'm almost certain we've spoken about this before, yeah? :)

I think we have, but the idea of going back to school scares me. I'm just not cut out for it. :)

And sometimes an antihistamine works better

Colleges are poised to cut their throats with all the PC bull shit. Its like the NBA making the teams hire midgets.

I went to college for only one semester. It was the most expensive 3 month party of my life. Between sex, drugs and drinking, there was not enough time for classes. My GPA made the crew from animal house look smart.
